Fortnite’s Icon Series of skins continues to grow, and the latest addition is the J Balvin skin, based on the popular Colombian singer known as the ‘Prince of Reggaeton.’ If you’re looking to add the new skin to your Locker, you’re in the right place, as in this guide we’ll run you through what you need to know to get the J Balvin skin in Fortnite.
Getting the J Balvin Skin in Fortnite
The J Balvin skin will be made available in the Item Shop on Thursday, August 26 at 8pm ET, 5pm PT, 1am BST (August 27).
The blog post announcing the J Balvin skin also revealed that players will be able to purchase the J Balvin set from the Item Shop.
This will include the outfit, Energia Balvin Style emote, Skeleton Balvin Style, Real Back Bling which can be unsheathed and used as a Real Pickaxe, and the Balvin Cruiser Glider.
Currently, no official pricing has been given for the J Balvin skin or set, however, based on previous Icon skins such as Loserfruit, we’d estimate the J Balvin skin on its own will cost 1,500 V-Bucks and the bundle will come in around 1,800 V-Bucks.
J Balvin Skin Release Date
The J Balvin skin and bundle will release on August 26 at 8pm ET, 5pm PT, 1am BST (August 27).
Currently, there’s no word on how long the J Balvin Icon Series cosmetics will remain in Fortnite’s Item Shop for, so if you’re looking to get them, we’d recommend grabbing them sooner rather than later.
How to Get Fortnite J Balvin Skin for Free
The J Balvin skin and Real Back Bling can be obtained for free by competing in the J Balvin cup on August 24.
This cup will be another Duos tournament, with the players earning the most points in each region’s three-hour time window earning themselves the skin and back bling.
As is always the case with these competitive cups, players must have two-factor authentication enabled on their Epic account and must have an account level of 30 or above in order to compete in the J Balvin Cup.
