How to Beat the Necrodragon at Seabound Shrine in Fire Emblem Echoes

Recommended Videos

Dungeons present great opportunities to strengthen you units and obtain new items in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The very first dungeon you’ll come across playing as Celica is Seabound Shrine in Act 1. Unfortunately, to even enter the shrine at all you’ll have to overcome a fearsome Necrodragon with high defense.

There’s a couple of different ways to approach this fight. The first and easiest way to beat the Necrodragon is by having Celica get to level 5, which is when she learns the magic Seraphim. Terrors like the Necrodragon are extremely weak to Seraphim, letting you dispatch it quickly. Of course, you’ll still need to protect Celica as the dragon can easily kill her in one hit, which is where the second strategy comes into play.

Take your units with the highest defense like Valbar, Kamui, Saber, and maybe Boey with a shield, and surround the Necrodragon. Don’t use any of these units to attack it, except maybe Valbar who can take a few hits. Meanwhile, use all of your other ranged units to pelt the Necrodragon with attacks, slowly chipping away at his health. It helps a lot if your recruited Genny at the starting area of the Priory by talking to her, as she can heal your units surrounding the Necrodragon. If you don’t have Genny, use Celica and provisions to keep your units healthy. Whether you have Seraphim magic or not, you’ll be able to take down the beast eventually.
