How to Change a Unit’s Class in Fire Emblem Echoes

Recommended Videos

Each unit in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has multiple classes that they can promote to, once they’ve leveled up enough. These promotions add on powerful new classes that can oftentimes bring incredibly useful abilities with them. Because of this, it’s always in your best interest to change a character’s class, although you can leave them as is for a while if you want to level them more. Promoting a unit will reset their level to one, but they will keep all of their current stats.

Once a unit has reached the necessary level to change class, which differs for each unit type, the game will give you a notification. What you need to do now is head to a Shrine Of Mila, which are usually found in dungeons. On the world map, you can tell which areas have one, as the top right of the information screen will have a red stamp with a shrine icon. Unfortunately, you will usually need to proceed through at least part of the dungeon to get there, but it’s a good training opportunity. Once you’ve reached the shrine, just select the Change Class option after interacting with the Mila statue.

Each unit in Fire Emblem Echoes promotes in a linear fashion, so there’s no choosing between multiple classes like in previous games.

That’s all you need to know to change a unit’s class in Fire Emblem Echoes. For more tips and guides on Fire Emblem Echoes, make sure to check back with Twinfinite.
