Setting up Camp – Final Fantasy XV

Recommended Videos

Camping is an incredibly important activity in Final Fantasy XV, as it lets your party rest and recover, distributes your accumulated experience points, view Prompto’s photos, and cook food to give you stat boosts. Luckily, the game gives you multiple points you can set up camp at.

You’ll want to look for icons marked on your map with yellow tents. This notes a location that you can camp at. Once you’ve made your way over there, simply walk up to the center of the giant cliff glowing with runes and you’ll see a campfire. If you interact with it and select the first option, you’ll set up camp. You can also choose to spar with Gladioulus at camping spots, earning Noctis a few more experience points if you win.

Now you’ll be able to choose which dish you want Ignis to cook for that night, and each one will provide you with different stat boosts. You can get things like increased attack, damage resistance and more. You will also have the accrued experience each party member has gained distributed at this point, leveling up your characters and granting you AP.

It should be noted that you can also rest and recover at hotels or trailers, and get an experience bonus. You cannot, however, receive the bonuses of Ignis’ cooking by staying at either of these places. Hotels are found in cities and larger urban areas, while trailers can be found at rest stops and gas stations. Make sure you’re resting regularly, so you can properly level your characters and get bonuses to help you along your trip.
