A year after the original release on PS4, Square Enix has released an upgrade version of Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS5. Dubbed FFVII Remake Intergrade, this version of the game features some pretty nice next-gen enhancements, as well as a new story episode featuring Yuffie of Wutai. If you’re worried about having to start the game from the beginning, though, there’s actually a way around that. Here’s how to download your save data to PS5 in FFVII Remake Intergrade.
Downloading Your Save Data on PS5 in FFVII Remake Intergrade
The save data transfer is a bit of a hassle for FFVII Remake, as you first need to boot up your PS4 copy of the game and download the latest update. Upon starting up the game, you’ll see a new option on the main menu that lets you upload your save data. Select that, then choose the individual save files you want to upload to Square Enix’s servers.
After that, boot up the PS5 copy of the game, then select the option on the main menu to download your save data.
The game will check the cloud for any data you’ve uploaded, and you’ll then be able to select the files you want to download. It’s a hassle as it requires you to reinstall the PS4 version of the game, which takes up quite a bit of space on your hard drive. But once you’ve uploaded your files, you should be able to delete the PS4 version safely.
It’s worth noting that using the PlayStation Plus save data upload function will not work for FFVII, so you’ll need to use the in-game method. All save data will be carried over, as well as all trophies you’ve unlocked from the PS4 version.
That’s all you need to know about how to download your save data in FFVII Remake Intergrade on PS5. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
