How to Destroy Shrines & What it Does in Far Cry 5

Recommended Videos

Ubisoft has created another dangerous setting with non-stop action and a maniacal leader in Far Cry 5. This time it takes place in Hope County, Montana, filled with small towns and looming mountainsides, as an extremist cult litters it with their own property, such as shrines. If you’re going to raise the resistance forces and lead them to fight back, you’ll need to destroy shrines in Far Cry 5. Here’s how to do exactly that.

The big bad of Far Cry 5, preacher Joseph Seed, has surrounded himself with a group of followers called Eden’s Gate as he takes hold of the county through violence. In order to get to him, you’ll have to eliminate his lower ranked leaders.

Similar to Ubisoft’s recent game, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Hope County is separated into sections with one leader in control of each piece of land. Before you can take on a leader and take back the land, you’ll have to build morale within the townspeople by raising the Resistance Level of a section.

There are multiple ways to increase the Resistance Level, with one method being to destroy Shrines. Shrines can be blown up by using explosives or repeatedly shooting the red flammable canister in the center of the structure. It is an easy option to build Resistance, so keep an eye out for them.

That is how to destroy Shrines in the game and why it is important to do so. Check back with Twinfinite for more Far Cry 5 coverage and our extensive wiki for more guides.
