How to Customize & Upgrade Weapons in Far Cry 5

Recommended Videos

While the stock weapons in Far Cry 5 are all well and good, they don’t have some of the luxuries that us players tend to love. Silencers, extended mags, and sights can make your life a whole lot easier when fighting off Eden’s Gate in Hope County, so here’s what you need to know to customize and upgrade weapons in Far Cry 5.

First things first, you’re going to want to look for a General Shop. These are marked with a green icon with a white gun on it. Press Triangle (or Y on Xbox One) to interact with the person and see what they have for sale.

Now, you’ll need to head to the Weapons section. Here, you can buy new weapons or customize ones you already have. Press X (or A) on the weapon you want to customize/upgrade, and then you’ll be greeted with the different sights, silencers, and mags available. Select the one you want to equip to your weapon and then use X or A once again to confirm this. All of this will cost you money, though, so make sure you’re saving up your hard-earned cash.

That’s all you need to know to customize and upgrade weapons in Far Cry 5. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
