Meditate to Win in Enderal Forgotten Stories

Recommended Videos

While its purpose isn’t completely clear at first, meditation is an essential part of Enderal Forgotten Stories. Here’s what you need to know about how to meditate in Enderal Forgotten Stories.

Meditate to Use Memory Points

If you’re wondering why your level 10 character is still getting destroyed by simple enemies, the answer may be that you haven’t meditated. In Enderal: Forgotten Stories you are still able to increase your character level like Skyrim, but you won’t see any benefits from your leveling-up unless you mediate.

Whenever you increase in level, you will accumulate Memory Points. These Memory Points can be used to learn different talents in a skill tree that is reminiscent of Skyrim. You start at the bottom of the tree and work your way up to bigger and better skills as you acquire more Memory Points.

In addition to Memory Points, there are also Learning Points and Crafting Points available in Enderal. These other kinds of points can be spent to upgrade their specific areas: Crafting Points upgrade your crafting skills, and Leaning Points upgrade your “leaning” skills when you read certain books.

How to Meditate

To get your character to meditate, you need only to press “Y” on your keyboard. Another option is to bring up your powers menu, select “Meditate”, and then press “Z”. For players who are using controllers, there is a known bug involving meditation. We’ve come across a number of possible solutions which we’ve noted below.

Common Issues and Work Arounds

Many players who use controllers have noted problems when trying to meditate in Enderal: Forgotten Stories. Some have reported being trapped in the meditation room at the beginning of the game, and for others, the meditation button on their controller simply doesn’t work at all.

Developer SureAI appears to be aware of the issue, and offered the following advice in the notes of their February 17 patch:

“Controller users might have trouble leaving the meditation area. Make sure to save the game and then restart the game and reload it. Or try to meditate once with mouse/keyboard, after that the controller will be detected properly.”

If that doesn’t work for you, here are other possible solutions that controller users can try:

  • Load a previous save and then try again.
  • Restart the game AND the launcher and try again.
  • Switch to using keyboard temporarily, press “Z”, and then save the game. Next, restart the game, the launcher, AND your controller’s connection to the game.
