If you’re going to take on the toughest Infected that roam the world in Dying Light 2, you’re going to need to level up protagonist Aiden, too. This is largely done by earning Combat and Parkour proficiency to get Skill Points. These skill points can then be spent unlocking skills from the Combat and Parkour skill trees respectively. Here’s how to get Combat and Parkour points in Dying Light 2.
Getting Combat Points in Dying Light 2
To get Combat Points in Dying Light 2, you need to fight and kill enemies. No matter how you fight or kill an enemy, you’ll earn Combat Proficiency, which will fill up a gauge.
More advanced moves will award you with more proficiency points, as does taking down tougher enemies. We also recommend combining your combat and parkour skills by using parkour combat moves, such as the jumping kick performed by staggering an enemy and using them as a springboard to leap over and land an attack on an enemy close to them.
Once the gauge has been filled, you’ll increase your Combat Proficiency by one, unlocking a skill point that you can then spend within the ‘Combat’ tree. You’ll get a notification on-screen when you’ve got a skill point to spend.
Completing main and side quests, as well as unlocking metro sub stations and other open-world activities will earn you large amounts of combat points as well.
Getting Parkour Points in Dying Light 2
Parkour points are earned as you traverse the open-world jumping, sliding, and climbing over obstacles. Just as was the case with the Combat Points, you’ll earn by Parkour Proficiency by pulling off more advanced moves and combinations of moves.
However, to earn points quickly, you will want to undertake main and side quests, as well as ticking off activities such as activating faction structures. There are also parkour challenges throughout the game, which are one of the many question marks to discover scattered around the map.
Typically, the rewards for a certain quest or open-world activity are listed as you hover over it on the map; if you see the boot symbol with wings, that’s a parkour reward. Likewise, the fist symbol is for combat points.
Once you’ve filled your Parkour gauge, you’ll get a Parkour skill point you can spend within the ‘Parkour’ tree. You’ll also get a notification on-screen letting you know to spend your skill points when you’ve earned one.
