Krillin’s Initiation Test in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Recommended Videos

Krillin is one of the first masters that you can train with in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 after meeting him during the very first Time Patrol you’ll complete. While he isn’t known for being one of the most powerful fighters from the anime and manga (and even previous games) you can actually get some pretty useful abilities from this early instructor that can definitely help you as you progress through the early parts of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s story.

Where is he? By the school, where you take the exams. This is to the lower left side of the map.

Before you can start earning some attacks, you’ll have to first get past Krillin’s initiation, which is quite easy. You can find him next to the Orange Star High School which is in the lower left corner of Conton city. He will teach you the rise to action skill which gives you the ability to charge up 200 stamina instantly. All you need to do is use the ability and beat him, that’s it.

Upon victory, you’ll earn:

  • 100 Zeni
  • Rise to Action

You can then move on to the next lesson. Keep in mind that if you’re not able to progress in the lessons, it means you need to progress in your advancement tests at the school (lower left-hand corner of the map).

Lesson 1: Orin Combo

The first lesson you’ll go through with Krillin is all about physical onslaughts, which is why he teaches you the Orin Combo, a pretty useful Melee Super that knocks enemies down to the ground after a quick combo. The fact that you can easily trigger this move mid combo makes it very useful, especially early on in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Krillin will challenge you to a sparring match, and all you have to do is beat him using your new skill. Your abilities are fixed during this lesson, so you’ll have to use what you have, but don’t worry since it’s very easy no matter what kind of character you created.

Upon victory you’ll earn:

  • 200 Zeni
  • Orin Combo

If you’re strong enough you can head on to the next lesson. Since this is one of the early masters, as long as you’re around level 5 you’ll be able to continue without any large break.

Lesson 2: Destructo-Disc

This second lesson will put you up against two fighters, Krillin and Yamcha. To pass, you will have to use your newly acquired Destructo-Disc super. You’ll be told that both of your opponents will go on the run, but don’t get too comfortable. They’ll actually look for openings to trigger combos that do a surprising amount of damage, so make sure to take them out quickly.

The good thing is that both opponents move relatively slowly throughout the fight, making the act of actually hitting them with the Destructo-Disc not so difficult. Also, they don’t seem to ever attack you at once (if they do, it’s very rare), so breathe easy.

Upon Victory you’ll earn:

  • 300 Zeni
  • Destructo-Disc

You’ll need to be raise your training level a bit before Krillin will give you the final lesson. Thankfully, he’s found right next to the school, so just talk to Elder Kai and take a few lessons.

Lesson 4: Scatter Kamehameha

This is your chance to obtain a pretty powerful Super attack early on in the game. The Scatter Kamehameha is perfect against groups of enemy, or enemies who like to dodge quite a bit. It fires a straight blast at first, just like a normal Kamehameha, but then shoots up in the sky and rains down powerful Ki blasts over a large area.

Krillin will have you practice this attack against three Saibamen at first. Once those are dead, you will then have to defeat seven more, but they don’t all have to go down from this super (which would be time consuming once they all split up). Just make sure to use the attack on at least one. Once they’re gone, your final test will be to take out Krillin himself. Use the attack during the battle, and you’ll be all set.

Upon Victory you’ll earn:

  • 400 Zeni
  • Scatter Kamehameha

That’s everything Krillin has to teach you in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. You can make him your master if you want, which will allow you to strengthen your relationship, earning gifts and other goodies as you progress and max it out.
