How to Z Reflect in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Recommended Videos

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a game of pressure. The longer your opponent can keep the pressure on you, the smaller your chances of emerging victorious actually become. Chaining together attacks in this sort of fast-paced 2D fighter allows players to drain their enemy’s life bars pretty quickly. For this very reason, there are plenty of offensive tools at your disposal that you can use to keep the pressure on enemies and chain combos together in a way that will allow you to juggle another player for a surprisingly long amount of time. But what about when the tables are turned? In addition to getting a solid handle on your offensive tools, you’ll need to also understand defensive tools in Dragon Ball FighterZ — like the ability to perform a Z Reflect.

Successfully performing a Z Reflect in Dragon Ball FighterZ will allow you to repel an attack while also creating some much-needed space. This is an easy move to execute in terms of input, so all you’ll really have to practice is getting the right timing down. If you’re playing on PS4, pressing back and X at the same time right as an attack is about to land will trigger a Z Reflect. If you’re playing on Xbox One, you’ll need to hit back and A at just the right time to trigger the Z Reflect.

Make sure you note how important timing is for the Z Reflect in Dragon Ball FighterZ. If you miss the timing, you’ll put yourself in a vulnerable position that your enemy could easily exploit. The one thing nobody wants to do in any fighting game is get punished for hitting buttons.
