Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – How to Save Your Game

Saving is important.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

You’ll be glad to know that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided does feature an auto-save system, and the game will automatically save your data and progress during key points. It will also save your game whenever you enter a new area, finish watching an in-game cutscene, or complete certain activities in the game.

However, if you want more control over your saved data, you can also perform manual saves during most segments in the game. To perform a manual save, simply pause the game by bringing up the main menu, and select the ‘Save’ option. This will allow you to save your data in one of the free slots available. It’s worth noting that the game will set aside one slot for the autosaves, and you can choose to either overwrite that autosave, or save your game in a completely new slot.

I highly recommend saving your game frequently, especially if you’re planning on being stealthy in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. A lot of times, things can go south while you’re trying to be sneaky, and you’ll be thankful for that manual save you just made a few seconds ago. However, do note that you won’t be able to save your game when you’re in the middle of a firefight. If you’re playing on the hardest difficulty with permadeath on, you won’t be able to reload a previous save file once you die.
