How to Redeem Pop-Tart Codes in Destiny 2
Any gamer out there who is a huge fan of Destiny and Pop-Tarts will be delighted to know that Bungie is currently running a special promotion for those who purchase special editions of the sugary breakfast pastries. Bungie has certainly been pulling out all the stops when it comes to marketing Destiny 2. A complete live action trailer directed by Kong: Skull Island’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts captured quite a bit of attention online and Bungie’s Pop-Tart promotion ensures that the hype surrounding the sequel continues to follow you even during a trip to the grocery store.
Buying select boxes of Pop-Tarts will give players access to a unique code that can be redeemed for a temporary XP boost in the game. Every code that you redeem from a purchased box of Pop-Tarts will give you four hours to run around with a 25 percent increase in XP gain. So if you’re interested in making your first few hours with Destiny 2 a little sweeter (sorry, we couldn’t resist) here’s what you’ll have to do to actually redeem your Pop-Tart promotion code.
The obvious first step is to purchase a box of Pop-Tarts that are eligible for the Destiny 2 promotion. If you see a large Destiny 2 ad taking over half of the box, you’re looking at the right one. This is if you want to be on the safe side about getting your bonus XP. Some players reported that they purchased unmarked boxes of Pop-Tarts and still received codes while others said their unmarked boxes didn’t get them anything. Now, here is the strange part. Instead of printing a code inside the box that you could redeem online after opening it, this Pop-Tart partnership will technically allow you to redeem your points without ever opening the box and committing to the purchase.
You can either text “D2XP” to “89332” or you can email “D2XP” to [email protected] along with a picture of your entire receipt. Some players have reported it taking up to 6 hours to receive a response so keep in mind that you may need to pack some patience here.
Also, different retailers come with different bonuses in addition to the XP boost. Gamers have reported that Walmart will give players an extra XP bonus code and Target will give you a Sparrow. There is no limit on how many times you can use the promotion but you will only be allowed to submit up to five receipts in one day.
