How to Upgrade Weapon and Armor Mods in Destiny 2

If you’re looking to make your gear even more powerful in Destiny 2, then mods are what you’ll want to look into. First you’ll need to actually beat the main storyline, so go ahead and do that before looking into mods because they aren’t available until then.

Due to only unlocking this once you’ve finished the story, we advise turning away now if you want to avoid spoilers. This is your warning!

With Destiny 2’s story finished, you’ll unlock the Tower and a familiar face in Banshee-44 will be there to greet you. Interact with him and you can start working on your equipment mods. For how to initially craft mods, you can check out our guide here.

After you have some mods on your equipment, and are satisfied with the ones you have, you can upgrade them to further enhance their perks. To upgrade, you must be power level 280 and have at least three of the blue mods you want to upgrade. So for example if you want to enhance solar damage, you’ll need three solo damage mods. Unlike crafting, there is no glimmer fee for this, but you’ll lose all three of your blue mods and instead you’ll have a legendary mod to use.

That does it for how to upgrade mods in Destiny 2. For more on Destiny 2, be sure to check out our wiki.
