Follower Javelin – Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel

Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel is now available, and with it comes a plethora of new spells and gear for players to collect. One of these items is the Follower Javelin, which is a Strength-based weapon that can help keep enemies at bay. However, getting this item is a bit tricky and will require some quick maneuvers.

From the starting bonfire, head out into the storm and go right until you reach an area where the ground is crumbling below you. Don’t worry about the undead soldiers, once the ground breaks they cannot follow you. Now you can deal with the pack of wolves prowling the forest, but they can be completely ignored if you are quick. Head right and hug the rocks until you reach the very end.

Quickly dispatch of the lone wolf just chilling, otherwise he will howl and call all of his friends over to fight. Once he is dead, begin to kill every tree monster that is lining the path to the top. You can tell which ones are enemies by how their hair blows in the wind and the way their bodies are bent forward. There will be three of them, and you can and should kill them one at a time.

Once all the tree beasts are dead you will have to deal with four undead soldiers (One shield, two javelin, and a torch user) at the top of the cliff. If you have a big weapon that can hit multiple foes, run up the side and try to kill them before they can react. If not, try and draw the shield and fire one away from the other two so you aren’t constantly having to block projectiles.

Kill them both and then quickly dispose of the two javelin throwers who are still located at the top. Once they are dead you can claim one of Dark Souls III’s newest weapons – the Follower Javelin.

Fun Fact: the Follower Javelin’s weapon art lets you throw it at great distances for only a little bit of magic.
