Cyberpunk 2077 is finally here and boy is it a big game. There are lots of different mechanics and features to learn about and sometimes the game doesn’t do the best job at explaining them to players, which is why we’re here to help. If you’re having issues with a quest titled ‘The Pickup,’ here’s how to remove the virus from the chip in Cyberpunk 2077.
During The Pickup quest, an optional task will pop up on your screen telling you to remove a virus from the chip before you go on and talk to Jackie to continue the mission.
How to Remove Virus from Chip in Cyberpunk 2077
To do this, open up the main menu and then highlight the Journal option on the far right, and then you’ll see another tab titled Shards. Open up your Shards and you’ll see a Militech Dashboard at the bottom of the list.
Press the button prompt that appears to crack the security code, which will then take you to a hacking mini-game that requires you to input a sequence in the code matrix, which you should have experience with by this point in the game.
You’ll see a string of codes on the right side of the screen that, if entered correctly, will neutralize the malware of the chip. These codes are 55, 1C, and E9.
Click on the 55 in the top-left corner of the Code Matrix to get the first part. Now press on the 1C in that same column, and then the E9 that’s in the same row as the 1C you just entered.
Once you do that, the virus will be removed and the optional quest will be completed.
