Best Visual Novels of September 2018

The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved the World

It can be quite tough sifting through Steam’s collection looking for the best visual novels to find something that is genuinely a fun game and that isn’t just an adult game featuring hentai instead.

No judgement here if that’s what you like. Sometimes though you’re just looking for something a little different. And not overtly sexual.

You can probably tell from the name of the game, but The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved the World is 100% very different and definitely not sexual.

The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved the World is a visual novel from indie developer Oh, a Rock! Studios. They are known amongst the indie visual novel community for their extremely quirky, silly, and fun games. Games such as Cat President: A More Purrfect Union. The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved the World continues that tradition.

The game features actual photographs which gives the game almost a FMV kind of feel to it, and has some light choice-driven gameplay to let you feel some weight of the slice that weighs heavy on your soul. The game also reps its authenticity, as it’s written by a former pizza delivery driver, and even if you weren’t one yourself, you should still be able to relate with having to deal with an annoying boss at one point in your life or another.

It’s definitely not meant to be taken seriously. It is a silly romp that will last you a few hours.

The game costs $6.99 on Steam. As long as the short length of the game isn’t a major turn off for you, The Pizza Delivery Boy Who Saved the World, which is still less than the price of a movie ticket, will likely leave you with a smile on your face.

That does it for our best visual novels of September 2018. Hopefully next month is a little more fruitful after all this pizza…
