Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to Heal & Restore Health

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s popular open-world historical fiction series. This time around, players will get to take control of a Viking named Eivor and explore England in search of treasure and new lands to claim as their own. Along the way, you’re going to run into many enemies who might want to kill you. So here’s how to heal and restore health in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Heal and Restore Health in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

The healing system works a little differently in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla than it did in past games. In this one, you’ll need to actively search for healing items to restore your health or risk dying to a stray arrow or a light tap from your opponent’s weapon.

As you explore the open-world, you’ll be able to find plants and mushrooms that you can interact with, which can serve as restoration items. Hold down the R3 button to use Odin’s eye, which will highlight items that you can interact with. You’ll usually be able to find plants or bushes like cloudberries, which you can press triangle or Y to interact with to restore your health.

If your health happens to be full, Eivor can collect the item and store it so that you can use it as an emergency restoration item later on. If you take a look at the bottom left corner of the screen, you’ll see a heart symbol next to your HP bar. As you collect cloudberries and food, the heart symbol will slowly fill up. Once it’s full, the number 1 will appear on the symbol, indicating that your emergency heal can be used.

When in battle, or whenever your health is low, you can press right on the d-pad to use it and quickly restore health. You’ll need to collect Cloudberries and food later on to restock, however.

Once you have upgraded your settlement to include a trading post, or you have located a trading post (denoted with a sack icon) somewhere in the open-world, you can also purchase Rations that restore your health. Initially, you’ll only be able to carry a single Ration. But this is upgradeable via the inventory screen, just so long as you have Iron Ore and Leather materials.

That’s all you need to know about how to heal and restore health in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
