How to Upgrade Your Ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Ever since Ubisoft struck gold with the naval gameplay back in Black Flag, they’ve tried to incorporate it into more games in the Assassin’s Creed series, and you can bet that it’s back in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as well. Aside from just exploring Ancient Greece, completing side quests, and liberating forts from the Greek or Spartan forces, you’ll also be spending your time sailing from one region to another in your ship. However, you’ll also need to regularly make sure your big ol’ boat is up to snuff if you want to keep up with enemies who might try to take you down on the high seas. Here’s how to upgrade your ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

In order to go through with the upgrades, you’ll need a few things first, including money or Drachmae, tablets, wood, iron metal, and leather. Once you’ve got enough resources, press the Options button to bring up your menu and select the Ship tab.

From here, you can use your cursor to hover over the section that you want to upgrade. For instance, you can increase the size of your hull, arrow charges, javelin charges, as well as arrow and javelin damage.

We definitely recommend upgrading your hull first, at least until you can assign four lieutenants to your ship, as this will give you a few perks to work with.

Also, upgrading your hull in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will give you a bit more ship armor, allowing you to take more hits. All you have to do is hover over the part you want to upgrade, then hold down the X button to complete the process, assuming you have enough resources to do so.

All Ship Upgrades

  • Fire Braziers
  • Arrows
  • Ram
  • Javelins
  • Hull
  • Rower Stamina
  • Crew Armor
  • Crew Design
  • Ship Design
  • Figureheads

That’s pretty much all you need to know to upgrade your ship in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Now, you’ll be well-equipped to take on whatever challenges await you on the seas. Just don’t forget to upgrade it all again once you’ve got new improvements to make!
