How to Assign More Lieutenants in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long-running franchise, and it also brings back the naval combat system that was first introduced in Black Flag all those years ago. To flesh out the system a bit more, the game also allows you to assign lieutentants to your ship, giving you more perks to work with during battle. Here’s what you need to know about how to assign more Lieutenants in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

First off, the game will start you off with only one slot. Bring up your menu, head over to the Ship tab, and you’ll see the lieutenants section in the top right corner. There are a total of four slots you can make use of in the game, but you only start with one and need to actively unlock the other three.

Those slots can be unlocked by upgrading your ship’s hull, which you can check out in the lower left corner of the screen while on the Ship tab. Upgrading the ship hull requires money and resources, and it also improves your ship’s armor rating, so we recommend getting to this first. For every hull upgrade, you’ll unlock an extra lieutenant slot. Once you do that, you can now assign lieutenants in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

How to Recruit Lieutenants in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

If you’re looking to recruit them, you can have Ikaros scout out potential recruits. All you have to do is knock them out, then send them to your ship, where they’ll be available for hire. Certain side quests also allow you to recruit special NPCs after you complete that particular quest, too. But you’re going to be able to get them more frequently from the first strategy we mentioned.

Having more and more of these right-hand men and women is definitely a good thing, as they all come with different perks such as increased ship armor or increased damage. This will give you a better chance of surviving the seas as the game progresses.

That’s pretty much all you need to know about how to assign lieutenants in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Be sure to check our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey guide wiki for more tips, tricks, and guides on the game. And here are more guides for your perusal, as well.
