Is Among Us Coming to Switch? Answered

Even though you’ve probably only heard of Among Us over the past couple of weeks, the game actually launched in 2018. Among Us has become hugely popular recently, with streamers and a load of other players jumping onto the game in their thousands. If you’re exclusively a console gamer and want to give the game a try though, you’ll be wondering if Among Us is coming to Switch. Well, we’ll run you through what we know.

If you’re unaware and are just wanting to give it a try, Among Us is a multiplayer game that involves one player taking on the role of an impostor as the rest play detective to work out who is the one that’s sabotaging everyone else.

Is Among Us Coming to Switch?

As of right now, Among Us is only available on PC via Steam, where it costs $5, and for free on mobile. It’s not available on any console (or hybrid in the case of the Nintendo Switch) and the developers haven’t commented on whether they plan to port it over.

However, I’m sure fans have been clamoring for it to come to console since it blew up. The developers haven’t commented since, but that’ll likely just be a matter of time.

However, since the game features text communication, it might not be the easiest game to get to work on Nintendo’s system. Typing is certainly tougher on Switch than it is on PC or mobile.

You’re probably best keeping your fingers crossed that the sequel to Among Us comes to Switch. In a post on their site about a month ago, they confirmed that they’re working on number two. However, they didn’t say anything about a console version. They said:

Unlike Among Us 1, we expect to make Among Us 2 for PC first, then port to mobile. This will let us focus on making a great game faster because updates can come out in minutes on PC, where mobile can take hours or even days.

However, as the game gets more and more popular and word of mouth praise spreads, maybe a Switch version of Among Us will get more likely. We will update you here if we hear anything.
