Fact found within a developer interview within the collector's edition. Anyone who's played Overwatch knows that there are tons of unique voice lines to pick for your favorite hero. Turns out, the Overwatch characters have a total of 7,000 lines in the game. Multiply that by twelve because the game was released in different languages and you have a whopping 84,000 lines recorded in the game.
Zara's Mystery tattoo.
Zayra has the number 512 tattooed on her left upper arm. Turns out they aren't there only for a sense of style. That number is a reference to her record weightlifting number of 512 kg, which is converted to 1128.7 lbs. Impressive numbers, to say the least.
Origin of Soldier 76.
Soldier 76's character design is based off an original comic series made by Chris Metzen and Max Velati. Chris Metzen is a game designer who is known for creating fictional universes for Blizzard Entertainment's three award-winning games: Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. On the other hand, Velati was in charge of the painting of the Soldier's unreleased comics.
Bastion's Pet Bird gets even better.
Bastion's pet bird is famous for being adorable in indescribable ways. Did you know he was named after the Greek mythology character Ganymede? In Greek mythology, Ganymede is a Trojan prince, known for his beauty. As the story follows, this prince was abducted by Zeus's eagle taking him to Mount Olympus.
The tattoo describes her perfectly.
Widowmaker’s tattoo on her right arm reads “Cauchemar,” which is the French word for “Nightmare." Fits perfectly, right?
Easter egg for World of Warcraft players.
Torbjorn’s ultimate, Molten Core, is a reference to a raid dungeon in World of Warcraft.
That sounds familiar.
