We have some Xbox Games with Gold predictions before the offical free games list for May 2021 is announced by Microsoft sometime in the coming weeks, with one larger AAA title and a smaller indie rounding out our list.

For the current month of April 2021, Xbox players got quite a few games, including Vikings – Wolves of Midgard, Dark Void, Truck Racing Championship, and Hard Corps: Uprising.

For next month however, we suspect the headliner will be Code Vein, developed and published by Bandai Namco.

This is for a few reasons. Firstly, Microsoft is very comfortable offering Bandai Namco games on Games with Gold, and it’s honestly surprising Code Vein has yet to be offered on the service. Some examples of past Bandai Namco game inclusions are:

  • Dark Souls in June 2014
  • Project CARS in February 2017
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2 in September 2019.
  • Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion in March 2019
  • Tekken 6 in January 2020
  • Project CARS 2 in April 2020

Secondly, Code Vein has been on sale for the last few weeks, taking its price from $59.99 to just $19.79. Usually when a game goes on sale before the new Games with Gold list is announced, this makes it a more likely pick for the following month.

If we don’t see Code Vein specifically next month, it’s still likely to occur sometime soon.
