New and Improved Gameplay
As the years go on, the WWE 2K developers strive to improve their games to give players the most realistic WWE experience possible. A lot of the fans complained about the core gameplay in previous titles, so you can definitely expect a massive overhaul in that department. One of the major changes in the series will be steering away from the arcade-style fighting and focusing on simulation-based gameplay. With that being said, WWE 2K17 is will have both new and improved mechanics making their way into the game.
Another change fans of the series requested was the return of the backstage and crowd brawls. In WWE 2K17, you will be able to control how, where, and with what you fight your opponent thanks to much more fluid gameplay. Ladder matches, Taunts, and the Secondary Submission series also received massive changes, that make the gameplay more accessible and pleasant to play. To give an authentic feeling, you can also expect  the Superstars to perform thousands of new animations, that include signature moves, iconic entrances, and much more.
The Return of WWE Universe Mode
Along with all the new features coming to the gameplay, WWE 2K17 sees the return of the fan-favorite WWE Universe mode. Many who watch Raw, Smackdown Live, and NXT know that there’s tons of drama and storylines mixed in with the wrestling. The new show presentation system makes you feel as if you are playing through a weekly WWE episode or a WWE-Pay-Per-View event. WWE 2K17 also adds in a new “run-ins,” as well as pre- and post-matches, that can change the whole episode with one decision. Just like an episode on TV, WWE 2K17 is very unpredictable.
To compliment the return of the WWE Universe Mode, WWE 2K17 also adds in the long-awaited Promos feature. In WWE 2K17, a brand new Promo Engine will allow players to express their feelings to other Superstars as well as the WWE Universe. This new Promo Engine will not only give the game a more authentic feel, but it will also bring a new and never before seen dynamic to the table.
Changes Coming to MyCareer
With all the new features coming to the game, 2K didn’t forget to touch up the MyCareer mode. Essentially, the MyCareer mode allows you to create your very own superstar and make a name for yourself as you strive to make it to the WWE. The new Promo Engine will be featured in the MyCareer mode which will allow you to improve your relationship with the crowds and other Superstars. Backstage interviews with the one and only Renee Young will take on a whole new dimension with the new backstage brawl feature. Unlike any other title, how your Superstar reacts and competes can change a Superstar’s career.
At some point in MyCareer your Superstar will be tasked with a dreadful match against the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman. Keep in mind, the result of the match will truly change the way your Superstar’s career advances, for the better or worse. Â
Deep Customization in the Creation Suite
The Creation Suite has once again made its way back to this year’s WWE 2K17. This mode allows you to create and share your own unique WWE Superstars, Arenas, and Entrances to the ever growing WWE Universe. The Creation Suite has received improved creation features, as well as focused on expanding and providing even more options for existing creation features. The Creation Suite also adds another vital feature: a full Highlight Reel Replay System. This will allow you to watch or share your very own personal match highlights.
