maneater

Have you ever wanted to know how it feels to be the big bad in the big blue? Of course you have, and Maneater allows you to live the life of a big sharky boi (TM) and eat up anything that swims in your line of sight.

What makes this oceanic adventure even more delightful is that the platinum trophy is more or less within reach once you’ve wrapped up the story.

It’s then a case of grabbing any collectibles you missed along the way and building your Infamy up to the maximum of 10.

Yes, you do need to eat humans.

No… we don’t know how that’s a negative either.

Handy guides like YouTuber UntilTammaro’s make mopping up all the collectible a cinch, and the story takes under 10 hours to complete.

Estimated Time to Platinum: 11- 12 Hours

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Easiest PS4 Platinum Trophies of 2020 So Far

Now, before you get the wrong idea, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance doesn’t see you unlocking your inner potential as a puppeteer. Instead, you’ll be guiding a fledgling resistance of Gelfling against their overlords. All of this action takes place in turn-based RPG battles, with a smattering of cutscenes dotted in here and there to help with the story beats.

Unfortunately, the game is just okay. It doesn’t do anything with its license to really make it stand out from the tactics crowd. But on the upside, it does have an easy platinum trophy up for grabs.

All you need to do is beat the game twice, but you can make this easier for you when playing New Game + by choosing the ‘Story’ mode. Then it’s simply a case of saving all your Pearls you’ve accumulated and spend them all on the end game gear to finish off the final boss and grab that last trophy.

If you’ve got some interest in The Dark Crystal Netflix series and fancy an easy tactics game, this one’s worth the time investment.

Estimated Time to Platinum: 35-50 Hours

Ghost of Tsushima

Easiest PS4 Platinum Trophies of 2020 So Far

Easily the game with the highest production values on this list, Ghost of Tsushima comes courtesy of the talented team at Sucker Punch Studios. Players assume control of Jin Sakai, a Samurai who finds himself fighting invading Mongol forces near single-handedly as he tries to save the island of Tsushima.

As you progress through the story, you’ll uncover more and more of the sprawling isle of Tsushima. You’ll sweep the fog of war off your map as you venture off the beaten path, completing main story missions, side quests, find collectibles, take on Mongol camps, and much more.

The great thing about Ghost of Tsushima’s platinum is it’s all rather straightforward and fun to complete. As long as you’re fine investing the time into getting every collectible and completing every mission, there’s nothing standing between you and that platinum trophy. Except for the 30-40 hours of course.

Estimated Time to Platinum: 30-40 Hours

Road Bustle falls into the category of game that only exists on the PlayStation Store for that sweet, easy platinum trophy. The gameplay is so uninspired that you’re unlikely to be rushing to your console to get it downloading.

All you need to do is keep making your way up the screen, navigating the traffic on the roads, trainlines, and whatever else the game can throw at you. Reach a score of 16,000 and you’ll get the Platinum… alongside 21 other trophies ranging from Bronze to Gold rarity.

Seriously, this is the easiest platinum you can nab in 2020, but that’s all you’ll be playing it for.

Star Wars Episode 1: Racer

An oldie but a goldie, Star Wars Episode 1: Racer sees you getting in the drivers seat and screaming out “Now this is podracing!” like a young, naive Anakin. While it initially released on the N64, PC, and Game Boy Color back in 1999, it hit the PS4’s digital store in May this year, offering a nice and easy platinum trophy for prospective players.

The gameplay’s pretty self-explanatory here. Race against other podracers on an assortment of tracks from the Star Wars universe. Use your race winnings to upgrade your pod and stay competitive with the rest of the pack.

Out of the 30 trophies, there’s only one that’s missable, but with PlayStation Trophies’, excellent trophy guide, you won’t miss out on it and will find a bunch of handy tips and tricks for grabbing all the others on your way.

To make getting the platinum trophy even easier, there’s a debug mode you can activate that makes the whole thing a cake walk.

Estimated Time to Platinum: 5 Hours / 3 Hours with Debug Mode

New Super Lucky’s Tale

Easiest PS4 Platinum Trophies of 2020 So Far

easiest ps4 platinum trophies of 2020

New Super Lucky’s Tale is a cheap and cheerful, family-friendly platformer. You’ll jump, burrow and tail whip your way through a bunch of 2D and 3D levels, in a complete reimagining of the original game. In other words, this is a modern game inspired by ’90s platformers that’s a great blast for those late-night sessions when you’re not up to concentrating on anything too intense. It’s also a good game to help introduce newcomers to platformers or video games on the whole.

The game’s 55 trophies comprise of a platinum, one gold, seven silver, and 46 bronze trophies. While that may sound like a lot, there’s really nothing you’re going to find too taxing. What’s more, none of the trophies are missable, so you can enjoy the game without worrying you’ll need to start over for that platinum.

Most of the 55 trophies will unlock naturally as you progress through the game, though you will need to 100% it to get the platinum trophy. PowerPyx has a great trophy guide that’ll guide you through every shiny trophy so you can make the platinum yours even faster.

Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure

Easiest PS4 Platinum Trophies of 2020 So Far

easiest ps4 platinum trophies of 2020

Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure comes courtesy of industry veteran Colin Moriarty and comedian Chris “Ray Gun” Maldonado who together form the Sacred Symbols podcast. Having mastered the art of talking games on podcasts, the two turned their attention to bringing a game of their own to player’s screens. The end result is Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure.

The US has been sending generation ships to nearby star systems in attempts to find new planets, but the ships have been disappearing mysteriously once entering interstellar space. Two pilots go diving through a wormhole and into a brick breaking adventure as they do all they can to uncover what happened to the US’ lost craft.

The brick-breaking action holds up well, too, though the game doesn’t bring anything new to the genre. What it does bring, though, is a great little trophy list, and we should have expected no less from Mr. Moriarty, having frequently professed his love for trophy collecting over the years.

With a total of 47 trophies, nine of which are tied to the story, Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols sounds more daunting than it actually is. Complete the story once, enjoy it all over again in New Game + while polishing off those S-Rank trophies, and then do a final sweep of any leftover progressional trophies by playing it a little more for fun.

The whole thing won’t take any longer than 10 hours, and it really is quite simple when you get playing. 35% of players have got the platinum trophy, so that should give you an idea of the easy challenge ahead.

Estimated Time to Platinum: 8-10 Hours
