SNIPPERCLIPS PLUS – Nov. 10
Snipperclips was one of the launch titles for the Switch that surprised us in the best way possible. Who knew that cutting up your friend into different-shaped pieces to solve puzzles would be one of the best things ever? Snipperclips was one of the most fun experiences available on the Switch from day one. If you’ve managed to experience everything that the cooperative puzzler had to offer, then be ready, because Snipperclips Plus is coming and it will give players 30 new stages and brand new modes as well.
This is technically an expansion to the original game, but it will be getting a physical/digital standalone release, which is why we’re including it on this list. This is the perfect excuse to get back into the game, or an even bigger reason to try out the game for the first time.
RIME – Nov. 14
RiME is a third-person action/adventure game that was inspired by past titles like Ico and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The game revolves around a boy who ends up lost on a deserted island, who then must solve puzzles to uncover the truth behind its mysterious buildings and runes. It contains the total package for anyone who wants to get away for a few hours and engross themselves in a quiet, serene world with a linear story to follow.
Imagine the world of Wind Waker mixed with a Studio Ghibli film and you have RiME; and with its beautiful soundtrack, cel-shaded visuals, and exploration-based gameplay, RiME is not one to be missed once it hits the Nintendo Switch later this month.
ROCKET LEAGUE – NOV. 14
Rocket League takes the popular sport of soccer, mixes it with racing, and sprinkles in a little bit of acrobatics. All of these ingredients make up one of the most compelling multiplayer experiences that this generation has to offer, and being on the Switch will provide all of the same fun, but this time, on the go.
Rocket League pits team against team, and the goal is to get the big explosive ball in the other team’s goal. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, with your little rocket car, you can perform a variety of jumps and aerial tricks to basically fly around the arena while grabbing speed boosts and tackling other cars out of the way. It’s all great fun and will make you smile and cheer like a child on Christmas day; don’t miss out on this high-octane title.
BATMAN: THE TELLTALE SERIES – NOV. 14
Telltale Games is known for their unique storytelling and heartbreaking decisions in their games, which are usually based on big-name properties. Batman: The Telltale Series is halfway through its second season already, but Switch owners will have the chance to play the first season later this November. If you’ve played a Telltale game before, you know what you’re in for; a narrative that involves tons of choices that will ultimately mold your Batman to be who you want him to be.
You get to choose if you want to be the good guy or the bad guy in certain situations, creating the dream game for any fan of the DC superhero. We haven’t gotten a confirmation on whether or not the second season will be coming to the Switch, but if the first season does well, it’s pretty likely that Telltale will bring it to the Nintendo’s console down the line.
RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS COLLECTION – NOV. 28
Resident Evil Revelations Collection contains both of the Revelations titles that have released on almost every past-gen and current-gen console. Revelations is the result of Capcom taking the series back to its survival horror roots and putting the player in the shoes of classic fan-favorites from past Resident Evil titles like Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Barry Burton.
Revelations may be a spin-off series but these two titles are must-plays for any fans of the horror genre; there are tons of spooks to be found in these titles that may not have been present in the action-heavy Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. If you’re craving some genuine horror experiences, don’t sleep on the Revelations collection, it’s well worth the cost of $39.99 and the Switch version even has some exclusive retro mini-games thrown in.
SYBERIA 2 -NOV. 30
Syberia 2 is a third-person adventure title set in the freezing tundra of Syberia where you play as New York City lawyer, Kate Walker. She’s on a mission to complete negotiations for a very crucial purchase of an automaton factory.
Through the handheld capabilities of the Switch, you’ll be able to journey everywhere with Kate on the go, at your own pace, solving puzzles and discovering the secrets of Syberia. If puzzles and mysterious stories are your weakness, make sure to check out Syberia 2 once it launches at the end of the month.
DARKEST DUNGEON – TBA
With an extremely deep combat system, 14 character classes, and five dungeons to fight your way through, Red Hook Studios’ Darkest Dungeon is one dungeon crawler that can’t be missed on the Nintendo Switch. Making your way through the dungeons that the game has to offer is equally satisfying and scary. The enemies and bosses are so creepy-looking that even your party members can stress themselves out to death; combat is exceptionally unpredictable, making the player rely on quick-thinking and just being prepared for anything. This dungeon-crawler is not for the weak of heart, but if you’re looking for a deep experience with some challenge, Darkest Dungeon is the one for you.
