Probably one of the most iconic themes in gaming, The Legend of Zelda’s main theme can actually be played on the Nintendo Labo. Relive the nostalgia of braving through difficult dungeons, collecting new weapons, facing Ganon, and saving Princess Zelda all through cardboard. That said, if you’ve always wanted to cover the song yourself, now’s your chance. You might have to put in a more effort learning it on the Labo than a real piano, though. Programming can be a real pain sometimes.

Mario Medley ft. Beatboxing

As if learning one cover on the Nintendo Labo wasn’t hard enough, YouTuber Daichi Beatboxer managed to cram a handful of tracks from the Mario series in a two-minute medley. Not only that, but he also remixed his performance with some sweet, sweet beatboxing. He also pulled off a few different sounds using a button on the Labo, so it’s pretty interesting to see how flexible the little cardboard machine really is. From the series’ main theme down to the icon coin ping, this dude definitely nailed this amazing cover.

Final Fantasy Main Theme

Here’s another classic track for you. The Final Fantasy main theme stands as one of the most iconic tracks in gaming, so it’s only fitting enough that a YouTuber, Tohru Yamaguchi, made a cover on the Nintendo Labo. While it might not sound as graceful as its orchestral counterpart, there’s no denying that he did an awesome job considering it’s just a cardboard cover. If you’re planning on making your own cover, you’ll have to get used to adjusting the little knob on the left side of the Labo.

Jump Up, Super Star!

Jump Up, Super Star! Was one of 2017’s biggest soundtracks, celebrating the release of Super Mario Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch. Mayor Pauline and her band performed the track after Mario saved New Donk City from Bowser’s crazy schemes, ending your tour in the city with a huge bang. All things considered, it was only a matter of time before someone made a cover on the Nintendo Labo. Lo and behold, YouTuber OhRichard managed to do it, playing the song’s catchy chorus on the Labo.

All Star by Smash Mouth

Rounding out our best covers, we have, well, the best cover. Yep, fans actually went there. YouTuber Akfamilyhome took the time to make a cover of All Star on the Nintendo Labo, because why not? And, no, this isn’t just some half-baked take on the song. But don’t take our word for it. To see (or hear) is to believe, after all, so go and take a minute of your time to listen to that superb cardboard cover.
