Now let’s kick this off by saying limiting this list to just five was pretty tough. I think the next four are not debatable personally, but the Pistons who we have first on this list, could have definitely been swapped out with a number of different teams. The NBA 2K18 all-time team for the Pistons might lack some big star power if you stack it up next to a team like say the Golden State Warriors who is definitely the sexy team these days, but they make up for it in depth, and just all-time toughness.

The roster just never falls off the ratings cliff like some other teams do. You have those 80s-era Pistons led by Isiah Thomas mixed with the super deep and balanced team from the 2000s that shocked everyone by beating the Lakers. Between Big Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman on the glass rebounds shouldn’t be an issue and you’ll have Billups and Hamilton to fire long distance shots. The Pistons are just very deep and well-balanced across all positions which gave them the edge over some other teams that didn’t make the cut.

Will the Spurs dynasty ever come to an end? The Spurs have been consistently one of the best teams in the NBA for what, like two decades now? And with Kawhi Leonard leading the team now, it doesn’t seem like the Spurs are going anywhere anytime soon. While maybe not as balanced as the Pistons, the Spurs are pretty deep still and have an all-time great forward and center with Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Reuniting those two again, and adding Leonard, Parker, Manu, and more into the mix will make the NBA 2k18 all-time Spurs team a brutal one to go up against.

Well duh, right? A team that has 17 championships spanning multiple decades is obviously going to appear on a list of the best all-time team rosters for NBA 2K18. There’s not much to say about the Celtics other than wow. Take your pick: 98 Larry Bird, 98 Bill Russel, 96 John Havlicek, 94 Paul Pierce. The only critique I’d have is that Kevin Garnett at a 91 overall should be higher. Still, that’s a small nitpick for a team that is absolutely stacked from top to bottom. Ray Allen is one of the “worst” players on this squad. Brutal.

Not much explanation is needed for including the ’96 Bulls squad on a list of the all-time best rosters. Any team with Michael Jordan is going to be among the greatest. Plus as an extra bonus, the Bulls all-time roster includes MVP-era Derrick Rose. It might have been a fluke year looking back now, but still, Bulls fans will take it.

And here we finally make it to the Lakers. It’s hard to argue that the showtime Lakers combined with the Kobe, Shaq era from the 2000s wouldn’t be among the five best, and if not the best, roster of all time in the NBA. Magic Johnson joins Jordan and Lebron with a 99 overall rating, plus Shaq and Kobe are right behind him with a 98, and Kareem and West are there too with a 96 and 97. I mean Pau Gasol and Wilt Chamberlain are sitting toward the end of the bench with a 90 and 91 respectively.The Lakers are hands down the best all-time team roster in NBA 2K18.
