PS PLUS FREE GAMES PREDICTIONS FOR JUNE 2018

shadow of mordor

Every month, Sony gives those to subscribe to its online service a few free games through its PS Plus program to sweeten the deal. Last month for May 2018, those free games included Beyond: Two Souls, Rayman Legends, Risen 3: Titan Lords, Eat Them!, King Oddball, and Furmins.

Usually at least one bigger game headlines the list, such as Rayman Legends and Beyond: Two Souls for last month, and for June 2018 we predict Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition will be the big game on PS Plus. Releasing back in 2015, since then a sequel Middle-earth: Shadow of War released in October 2017 to positive praise.

Shadow of Mordor would be a smart entry to the PS Plus line-up not just due to the fact that it is a respectable amount of time since its release for Sony to consider to offer it for free, but because it has already been offered for free on other competitor free games services other than PS4. For example, Xbox One allowed players to try Shadow of Mordor for free during the Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days in July 2017 from July 6-9 with a 80% price drop on the title offered afterwards. During that same time is was also free to play on PC via Steam as well.

Since Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a large AAA title that was well-received, it’s sure to please PS Plus subscribers. Much like Ratchet & Clank and Bloodborne in March 2018 or Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain in October 2017 did.

Next we also look at a couple possible indie inclusions for the PS Plus line-up for June 2018.

INDIES

PS PLUS FREE GAMES PREDICTIONS FOR JUNE 2018

gang beasts, the deer god, ps plus, indies

After the larger games, a couple smaller indies usually end up on the PS Plus line-up as well. Our first prediction is pixel platformer The Deer God from Blowfish Studios. As a deer you must survive in the wild while competing puzzles and finding statues in a 3D pixel art world.

The Deer God released last year in April 2017, a normal amount of time to be considered on the PS Plus line-up. However, the reason it is a big contender is because it is available on both PS4 and PS Vita, and Sony loves killing two birds with one stone and having titles that can be played cross-platform on PS Plus.

Our second guess for an indie inclusion is Gang Beasts published by Double Fine and developed by indie studio Boneloaf. In this super silly multiplayer game you and some friends control tiny squishy dudes with the goal to fight and shove each other in various fun environments. When it comes to indies, Sony always makes sure to include a multiplayer game almost every month so there’s some variety in what players can choose to download. Gang Beasts is a very popular and well known indie, which many players would be happy to have since its slapstick fun is very easy to pickup and teach to others.

Make sure to check back in a week or two when the official PS Plus list is finally revealed by Sony for June 2018.
