Destiny 2
It’s Valentine’s Day! The day of love and video games! Well, maybe not video games officially, but every day is a day for video games.
Some games are getting into the spirit of Valentine’s Day with varying events, sales, or special modes. Celebrate with loved ones! Or yourself! It doesn’t matter, as long as you have fun. Here are 4 games with Valentine’s Day events this year, some of which you can play with your Valentine. What are you waiting for? Hop on over and get some love day bling!
In Bungie Studio’s sci-fi shared shooter, Guardians hundreds of years from now still recognize some well-loved holidays from today, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. If you log into Destiny 2 this week, you’ll find that the Tower is in full swing for the event called Crimson Days. Lord Shaxx has added a new Crucible playlist, a 2v2 Clash with a special twist:
The sun is darkened and the only Light to be found comes from you and your partner fighting as one. Stay in close proximity to your partner and your abilities recharge at a faster rate. Stray too far, and your enemies will be given a waypoint leading to your location. If you can’t find a partner, don’t worry. We’ll play matchmaker and find one for you.
Lord Shaxx as matchmaker is equal parts fantastic and utterly terrifying.
In addition to the new mode, you’ll be able to find more loot, from special Crimson Engrams, as long as you’re max level. Some of it is even unique loot to this event, which can be acquired by completing a variety of in-game tasks. Those tasks include completing the Leviathan Raid, Nightfall Strike, and by completing matches in the Crimson Days playlist.

Gears of War 4
Love is a battlefield. All is fair and love and war. Well, all is certainly fair in love and Gears of War.
Until February 19, Gears of War 4 will feature a special multiplayer playlist, Cupid’s Torque Bow Tag. Two special ‘Flaming’ skins are up for grabs for the Enforcer and Torque Bow. The catch, as there often is with love, is that you’ll have to achieve certain milestones in Cupid’s Torque Bow Tag. To get the Flaming Enforcer skin, you’ll need 100 kills in the mode, and to get the Flaming Torque Bow, you’ll need to win five matches.
If you get those milestones, you’ll find your new skins sometime by mid-March. Happy hunting!
Pokemon Go
The endearing virtual reality game Pokemon Go is still trucking, though the hype has died down a bit. Through February 15, developer Niantic is running a special Valentine’s Day event in game, about the most lovable, Valentine’s Day Pokemon there is!
No, not Mew. Not Vanilluxe, either. Gyarados? That’s just a shot in the dark.
Happy Valentines, Trainers! Until February 15, schools of Luvdisc will be out swimming and awarding 3x Stardust for each one caught. #PokemonGOValentines❤️ pic.twitter.com/awxBGLPxcd

The most lovable Valentine’s Day Pokemon is, obviously, Luvdisc, the heart Pokemon. Heck, it’s got a spelling variant of ‘love’ in its name. Luvdisc will be in the air, so to speak, and catching them will award 3x Stardust. Stardust is used in Pokemon Go to power up and evolve your Pokemon, and so if you’re looking to take on a gym or just raise the most epic Magikarp of all time, this Valentine’s Day event might just be for you.
Look for Luvdisc in all the right places, in other words.
Rainbow Six Siege
Looking for your guns to be a little more…sweet? To have some heart? Look no further!
Rainbow Six Siege’s weekly challenge this week is, you guessed it, Valentine’s Day related. There are two charms up for grabs: the Lovestruck charm and the Love Target charm. Getting the charms is actually quite simple. To get the Lovestruck charm, play 10 rounds with Ying. To get the Love Target charm, play 10 rounds with Echo. Importantly, you need not win games with either character or achieve a certain amount of kills or other specific goals. Just playing those 20 rounds will get you the charms. No other effort needed.
Final Fantasy IV
Square Enix’s MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV features a special Valentine’s Day questline that is only available this Valentine’s Day season. Through February 15, Lisette de Valentione in Old Gridania needs help with a “matter close to her heart.”
That sure sounds like something to do for Valentine’s Day!
The questline can only be completed after you’ve hit Level 15 and completed the “It’s Probably Pirates” questline. Additional items available include the Broken Heart Pendant, Valentine’s Day Balloon, and Rose Wagon. And if you missed some items from previous year’s Valentine’s Day events, some will be available for purchase in the Seasonal Shop.
