Final Fantasy XIV Holiday Gift Guide 2020 For the Warrior of Light in Your Life

The holidays are just around the corner, and if you’ve got a friend or loved one who’s really into Square Enix’s popular MMORPG, you might want to consider getting them a gift themed around Final Fantasy XIV. The game has received a ton of traction since the release of last year’s critically acclaimed expansion, Shadowbringers, and the hype for the continuation of the story has never been higher.

With that in mind, we’ve picked out a few items here that might serve as welcome gifts for the hardcore FFXIV fan in your life this year.

Game Time Card

We’ll get the obvious pick out of the way. Final Fantasy XIV players have to pay a monthly subscription fee, and while it isn’t the most expensive thing in the world, it definitely adds up the longer you’ve been playing.

A Game Time Card is the most practical and useful gift you could get for an FFXIV player as it literally helps to ease their financial burden for a little while, and still allows them to keep playing the game that they love. Square Enix always has Game Time Cards up for sale on its online store, and it’s a gift that will definitely be appreciated by players.

Official Merchandise

In all honesty, the official Square Enix online store isn’t exactly the best place to look if you want to get your hands on some Final Fantasy XIV merchandise, but they still have some decent stuff on there. Our favorites include the new Sundering t-shirt featuring Hydaelyn herself, the oldest of all Primals, as well as the Paissa Patissier plushie.

The Paissa Patissier is one of the cutest minions you can get in the game right now, and it’ll look even cuter sitting on your bed or shelf. It’s worth noting that if you buy the plushie, you’ll also get an in-game code for a Stuffed Paissa Patissier, which is a piece of indoor furnishing that you can use to decorate your home or apartment in FFXIV.

While their selection isn’t very extensive, there are tons of other cool FFXIV-themed items you can get on the official online store as well, including more plushies, pins, and card sleeves.

Etsy Products

Unfortunately, if you want to get some seriously cool-looking stuff, you’ll have to go beyond just the Square Enix stuff. The good news is that Final Fantasy XIV has an incredible community, which means that there’s a lot of well-made custom merchandise that you could get from sites like Etsy.

Some of our favorites include a shield pendant themed after Haurchefant Greystone, one of the most popular characters from the Heavensward expansion and in the game overall.

With the release of the Shadowbringers expansion, the Great Serpent of Ronka minion has also seen a huge surge in popularity. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that it would get its very own handmade plush as well, and it looks absolutely adorable.

We’re also huge fans of this lovely looking pin set of all the Scions and the Crystal Exarch himself from Shadowbringers. Do be warned that this pin set contains major spoilers for a plot point in Shadowbringers so click at your own risk, and make sure your giftee has actually beaten the story before giving this to them.

And that does it for our Final Fantasy XIV 2020 holiday gift guide. Got anymore recommendations for us? Let us know in the comments down below.
