Risk of Rain 2

Developed by Hopoo Games and published by Gearbox, Risk of Rain 2 is an upcoming indie third-person roguelike shooter that has players looting, shooting, and then doing some more looting and shooting, like your typical roguelike.

It released as an early access title on PC earlier this year in March, but it was announced during Indie World that it would be coming to the Switch sometime this Summer.

You can expect release date info on Aug. 30, according to Gearbox.

Eastward

Eastward is a new top-down RPG inspired by 90s Japanese animation that just looks gorgeous and incredibly charming. It was originally announced last year for PC and Mac, but it’s also coming to the Nintendo Switch.

It’s a cinematic adventure title that comes from Chucklefish that places you in the role of a miner named Sam who has to dive deep into dangerous caverns and cities to uncover some pretty strange mysteries.

There’s no specific release date yet, but it’s coming sometime in 2020.

Freedom Finger

Freedom Finger is an outrageous indie space shooter that features top-notch voice talent like Nolan North and John DiMaggio and there’s also a rocking soundtrack made up of indie bands.

Each level features a different track and you essentially play as a middle finger that can pick up any object or enemy on the screen. Missile coming at you? You can grab it and use it against your foes.

You can also punch, flick, and do a whole bunch of other finger-related moves to make it to the end of the level.

Freedom Finger is coming to the Switch eShop this Fall. We got the chance to try it out at Pax East earlier this year and had an absolute blast with it.

Roki

Roki comes from Polygon Treehouse and United Label and is a beautiful and haunting adventure game that has you befriending woodland creatures while also venturing into the unknown.

Its cel-shaded art style and minimalistic tones make it look like a perfect indie for the Switch. You can expect Roki to release sometime this Winter.

Torchlight II

Torchlight II is an indie dungeon-crawler action-RPG similar to Diablo by way of Runic Games. It originally released in 2012 for PC to critical acclaim due to its excellent design and gameplay loop that keeps you coming back for more.

Torchlight II will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch on Sep. 3. If you pre-purchase the title, you can get access to a Pet Yapper and a Pet Unicorn.

Skater XL

No, it’s not Skate 4 but Skater XL seems to be another skateboarding title that hearkens back to the early 2000s, where this hobby was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

Skater Xl promises awesome physics-based gameplay, total control over your board, and grinding… lots and lots of grinding.

This title will be launching sometime in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.

Youropa

Youropa has you playing as this little figure that you can customize with spray paint to make it your own. You’ll be traversing several environments in this puzzle-platformer when it comes to the Switch this Winter.

Superhot

Superhot became super-popular when it launched for VR devices not too long ago, but now it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch and if you don’t own a VR headset, this is the perfect time to jump in on the action.

By slowing time you can dodge bullets and work out a way to destroy these red-colored polygonal figures by using guns and swords.

And guess what? Superhot is available today on the Switch eShop.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

Dungeon Defenders is a multiplayer action title that has you defending your dungeon from invaders. It’s a mix of tower defense and action-RPG gameplay combined to create a really enjoyable experience with friends.

The game will launch first on Nintendo Switch as a timed console exclusive sometime in February of 2020.

The Touryst

The Touryst looks like a mix of Minecraft but if Minecraft was an actual RPG. The pixel art style gives the game a 90s feel, especially since you can go to arcades and record stores.

You can also go deep into some mines, go swimming on an exotic island, and go shopping. Go be a tourist and do whatever it is you want.

The Touryst launches in November for the Nintendo Switch.

Skellboy

Skellboy is a pixelated dungeon crawler where you play as a skeleton. The soundtrack is sure to delight players when the game launches on Switch on Dec 3.

EarthNight

EarthNight is a wicked cool 2D platformer that’s full of mystical creatures such as Dragons, flying wolfs, and other crazy monsters.

EarthNight is set to launch this year on the Switch.

Hotline Miami Collection

Hotline Miami Collection is a fast-paced top-down action title from Devolver Digital that is available on the Switch eShop right now and includes both Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

Blasphemous

Blasphemous is a 2D action title from Team17 and it’s launching on Switch on Sep. 26.

Close to the Sun

Close to the Sun is a first-person horror adventure game that is launching later this year on the Nintendo Switch.

Cat Quest II

Cat Quest II unites dogs and cats in an open-world RPG that has you bringing peace to a world full of war and turmoil. This cute little indie will release later this year on Switch.

Spiritfarer

Spiritfarer is a management game about death that allows you to build and improve upon your own ferry. Spiritfarer launches sometime in Spring 2020 for the Switch.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince launches for Switch on Oct. 8 and features multiplayer action that has you traversing through fairytale locales with three heroes.

Creature in the Well

Flight School Studio will be bringing their top-down action title to the Switch on Sep. 6.

One Finger Death Punch 2

One Finger Death Punch 2 has you playing as a stick figure man with some awesome kung-fu moves. You’ll be able to beat up some other stick figures once the game launches on Dec 2 on Switch.

Best Friend Forever

Best Friend Forever combines pet care with a dating sim to create a truly unique and adorable experience. This one launches on Valentine’s day next year.

Phogs!

Phogs is a charming cooperative title that has you playing as two dogs that have been fused together. It’s a comical puzzle game that is coming to the Switch in early 2020.

What the Golf?

A golfing game for people who hate golf, What the Golf, launches later this year on Switch.

Kine

Kine is coming to the Switch on Oct. 17 and is a 3D puzzle title about three aspiring musicians who happen to be machines.

Hypercharge: Unboxed

Hypercharge is a first-person tower defense game but with toys that takes place in a backyard of a family home –think Toy Story if it was a shooter.

This one is set to launch this Winter on Switch.

Northgard

This top-down strategy game is based on Norse mythology and will be coming to the Switch eShop on Sep. 26 of this year.

Sparklite

Sparklite is a top-down action title with procedurally generated levels that has a soundtrack inspired by classic GameCube games. It’s coming out on Nov. 7 for the Switch.

Munchkin: Quacked Quest

Munchkin: Quacked Quest is a cooperative dungeon crawler with different classes, weapons, and randomized dungeons to provide hours of questing with your friends.

This one is launching this Fall on the Nintendo Switch.

Ori and the Blind Forest

Microsoft will be bringing over their indie platformer-puzzler title Ori and the Blind Forest to the Nintendo Switch on Sep. 27.
