With games such as Disney Infinity off the market and Skylanders taking a hiatus, it just feels like the toys-to-life genre just didn’t cut it in the video game industry. Still, that didn’t stop Ubisoft from testing the waters and creating a new game called Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Unveiled during their E3 2018 presentation, Starlink is all about navigating your own ship and destroying enemies known as the extractors, who come prepared with their own deadly arsenal of firepower and giant shields. Players can explore each of the seven planets in the game, and since it’s toys-to-life, you can even attach toy ships to the controllers that each have their own abilities.

One interesting thing about Starlink is that it supports couch co-op multiplayer. Players can link the game with a friend and take on enemies together through a split-screen display. Ubisoft has yet to delve into further details about other co-op modes, including competitive play, but it’s still nice to know that you can bring a friend along on your adventure. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is slated to launch this fall on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
