Hercule/Mr. Satan
8 Characters We Hope Come To Dragon Ball FighterZ Via DLC
Dragon Ball FighterZ’s roster of fighters is missing a lighthearted character, and no fighter matches this role better than Hercule. Hercule has been in many of the past Dragon Ball fighting games, and we hope he eventually comes to FighterZ. With respect to his moves, we’d expect him to have a support-style, perhaps fulfilling a more extreme version of what Krillin currently brings to the table. The obvious, massive difference between Hercule and the next strongest fighter on this game’s cast (canon-wise) would perhaps relegate Hercule to this type of gimmicky role, but there’s no reason to think that Hercule fans would have any problem with a realistic depiction of the world’s reigning martial arts champion.
Part of Hercule’s charm is his voice acting from the dub, and hopefully, Chris Rager would be able to reprise his role if Hercule makes his way to Dragon Ball FighterZ via DLC or Season Pass. The starting roster in FighterZ is pretty darn good, but some added light-heartedness and humor wouldn’t go amiss.

Cooler

Cooler might have only made appearances in Dragon Ball movies, but he’s an awesome character that we’d love to see in the game. Not enough time was spent elaborating on the tense history of Frieza’s family in the anime and manga, and the Cooler movies shed some light into the affairs of Frieza, King Cold, and Cooler himself. Cooler would be an exciting fighter in his final form, and he could serve as a bulkier, heavier-hitting version of his younger brother Frieza.
Obviously, there’s no shortage of cool Dragon Ball movie characters, and whether or not Cooler distinguishes himself enough popularity-wise to justify inclusion is a decision that the developers will make. We can but hope! After all, Darkness Eye Beam would make for a great attack to throw opponents off balance.
Broly

Broly might be the most glaring omission from Dragon Ball FighterZ’s original roster. While also a movie-only character, Broly is one of the series’ most powerful warriors, and his design is a beautiful blend of regalness and intimidation. His large stature would dwarf most of FighterZ’s roster, and he would likely be the biggest playable character, though we’d suggest an exact one-to-one scaling would make him a little OP.
There are a number of different forms that Broly could take, but his Legendary Saiyan form is the most appropriate, as it clearly separates him from the other Saiyans already in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The biggest factor holding back Broly from inclusion is his lack of presence in the anime and manga. Technically, of course, Broly isn’t even part of Dragon Ball’s canon universe, and whether or not that will matter to Arc Systems Works in their consideration of future characters remains to be seen. Then again, Android 21’s inclusion, despite not existing in any other Dragon Ball media makes anything seem possible.
Super Buu

Super Buu is Buu at his most intimidating, and even though Kid Buu and Fat Buu are already part of the roster, the lack of Super Buu on the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster just feels wrong. Super Buu is relentless, scary, and is the highest level of power that Buu ever reaches. Along with this power, Super Buu, as a character, also possesses an intelligence that his other forms do not. This level of cunning makes Super Buu’s evil all the more calculated, and this adds a layer of creepiness to his character.
There is plenty of moveset potential, especially if Super Buu is added in his ultimate form, which is the transformation onset by his absorption of Mystic Gohan, Piccolo, and Gotenks. Fans of Budokai may remember the eye-catching techniques of Super Buu featured in those games; he was able to absorb characters he never did during the anime, like Frieza and Tien, and the result was awesome fan-service and the exploration of interesting “what-ifs.” While FighterZ unfortunately doesn’t fit well with a similar mechanic, Super Buu has no shortage of cool moves to pick from; Human Extinction Attack and Dangerous Liquid Bomb come to mind. Even though it’s hard to fault Arc System Works for choosing Fat Buu and Kid Buu first, not having Super Buu in Dragon Ball FighterZ eventually seems like a disservice to the Buu saga.
Kefla

With Dragon Ball FighterZ sorely lacking female representation, Kefla would be a great addition to the roster via DLC or season pass. While the Dragon Ball franchise has no shortage of good female characters, Kefla is one of the few the same level of power as some of the series’ strongest. Because of this, Kefla is one of the most viable choices to bolster the roster’s diversity all the while adding another dynamic fighter into the mix.
Actually a fusion of two other characters, Kale and Caulifia, Kefla owns a unique fighting style and does a great job of making up for the lack of female Super Saiyans up until Dragon Ball Super. Kefla would certainly be a fast character, hopefully to the same extent what we saw during her fight with Goku in the Dragon Ball Super anime. That fight demonstrated some of what Kefla is capable of, and with Dragon Ball FighterZ’s quick, accurate-to-the-anime animation, seeing Kefla added to the roster would be using Arc System Works’ talents to the max.
Kid Goku

While Tien and Yamcha sort of represent the original Dragon Ball series already, we wouldn’t say no to another nod to its roots. Kid Goku would be a fun addition as a small, conniving fighter to the roster, and his presence would alleviate the current lack of child characters other than Gotenks. The world’s eight Goten and Kid Trunks fans may never get their specific wish fulfilled, but Kid Goku might work as a solid consolation prize.
On the other hand, Goku is already well-represented as a character already, and the addition of Kid Goku may fatigue some. However, if he were implemented in a way different enough from the rest of the roster complaints would be minimal, as varied gameplay is always a good thing. Kid Goku has plenty of history to reference in the creation of his moveset as long as Arc System Works focuses on his Dragon Ball representation rather than his role in GT.
Master Roshi
8 Characters We Hope Come To Dragon Ball FighterZ Via DLC
Master Roshi is an odd, notoriously perverted, and (relatively) weak character, and many fans were surprised to hear of his role on Team Universe 7. The gulf in power between Dragon Ball characters is no secret, and Roshi certainly wasn’t part of the group who rapidly-ascended in power throughout Dragon Ball Z. As a result, Roshi (like many others) quickly became outpowered by the more featured characters of Dragon Ball. Roshi was a big part of Goku’s early life and trained many of the Z-Fighters, but his inclusion on a team of what’s supposed to be the universe’s strongest combatants is still a shock to some fans.
Nonetheless, Master Roshi is clearly positioned to be a more relevant character than he has been in the series in a long time, so we’re holding out hope he might be considered. Canonically, Roshi is no powerhouse, but he is likely on par (if not stronger than) Yamcha. If he’s strong enough to be on the universe’s all-star team, he’s definitely strong enough to be on the roster. After all, he did a pretty good job taking down those soldiers in Resurrection F.
Whis

Learning that Whis is vastly more powerful than Beerus is a huge plot twist in Battle of the Gods, and his role in that movie and the rest of the Dragon Ball Super anime is memorable enough to warrant inclusion in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Weapon-wise, Whis’ scepter would clearly divide him from the rest of the roster, and his moveset would likely be a far cry from any other of the current fighters due to his more reserved style.
It’s fair to mention that Whis has rarely entangled himself in combat within the anime so far, but that doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t be included as a character. If anything, Whis’ inclusion in Dragon Ball FighterZ would be a fun way to demonstrate Whis’ combat potential without having any long-term effects on the direction the anime is intending to take his character. Whis’ personality is also unique, and the combination of his level of power along with his calm and collected nature makes him one of the more fun parts of Dragon Ball Super so far.
