Things to Do After Beating Destiny 2: Warmind

After completing the story campaign in Destiny 2’s Warmind, there’s still a ton you can do to increase your Power level. The first thing you’ll want to do is complete the blue quest that unlocks on Mars after finishing the campaign. Ana will task you with tracking down a signal, and the quest line will lead you back to Rasputin’s terminal. Completing this post-Warmind story quest will reward you with a Legendary Hand Cannon, which is pretty powerful on its own. However, you can also complete a pursuit related to the gun by getting precision kills on Hive and Cabal enemies to unlock something new.

Not only that, you’ll also get the Nascent Dawn pursuit, which tasks you with completing patrols and looting a Lost Sector. We haven’t quite figured out what sort of reward this unlocks just yet, but the mention of Sleeper Nodes leads us to believe that this is the start of the Sleeper Simulant Exotic quest. Bungie’s been teasing the return of this weapon in Destiny 2, and this might be it.

Escalation Protocol

Escalation Protocol is a brand new horde mode public event introduced in Destiny 2 with the Warmind expansion. You can join in on the event before completing the campaign if you see other Guardians attempting it on Mars, but we advise against doing so. Even at Power level 340, completing the first level in Escalation Protocol can be very challenging, so you should definitely go finish the story and level up a little before trying this.

Destiny 2: Warmind’s public event can only be triggered on Mars, and you have to look for squarish metal plates on the ground that emit a red glow, not unlike the ones you saw from the Valkyrie javelin nodes in the story itself. Interact with it, and you’ll start the event. You’ll have to kill all enemies and complete all objectives within the time limit in order to proceed. If you succeed, you’ll get some nice rewards to boost your Power level.

Look For Exotic Masterworks

With the Warmind expansion and the latest patch in Destiny 2, players can now hunt down catalysts to unlock a Masterworks version of their favorite Exotic weapons. The Masterworks system was first introduced in Curse of Osiris, but now that the system covers Exotic weapons, they feel even more worthwhile.

How this works is that you have to find a catalyst specific to the Exotic weapon you want to upgrade, and then complete a quest to unlock the Masterworks version of the weapon. The tricky part is finding the catalyst itself to start things off. Folks over at the Destiny 2 subreddit have reported being able to find the Crimson catalyst by hitting precision shots with a Hand Cannon, but for the most part, it still seems random and no one has been able to confirm how exactly to get the items.

Don’t make this a priority; just play through the game, do your Strikes and Nightfalls, and see if you get lucky with the catalyst drops.

Prepare For the Raid Lair

Destiny 2 Warmind expansion

With the new Leviathan Raid Lair dropping later this week, you’ll probably want to get your Power level up as high as possible before you attempt it. With the Warmind expansion, the level grind in Destiny 2 has been slowed down rather significantly, so it’s definitely going to take a bit of time before you can get raid-ready.

That said, there are a few things you can do to boost your Power level. The Weekly Milestones are always worth doing, of course. Milestones like Call to Arms and Flashpoint can be knocked out quickly, and you’ll get a Powerful engram to make you stronger. Escalation Protocol is also a fun way to grind if you’ve got a Fireteam with you. This is considered one of the new end game activities in Destiny 2, so once you hit 340, you can start giving this a go.
