SteelSeries Siberia X800

SteelSeries_Siberia_800

There are few better wireless headset options for gaming on the Xbox One than the SteelSeries Siberia X800. Not only is it a supremely comfortable headset, allowing you to keep playing for hours on end, but many of its features make it one of the most complete packages. The X800 Xbox One version of the headset comes with an adapter that allows you to easily adjust chat levels and game volume via the controller. The Dolby virtual 7.1 surround sound technology and the 10 meter wireless range ensure that the sound is excellent at all times, and the included transmitter allows you to switch devices quickly and easily. Also, an additional lithium-ion battery comes in the box, and it recharges in the transmitter, allowing you to change as you play without losing hours of gaming time. It costs around $250, but it’s worth it if you’re looking for a luxury, Xbox One compatible headset.

Astro A50

The Astro A50 Wireless headset is one of the largest on the market, and it is quite heavy, but the material used on the headband and the foam used around the ear-cups ensure that is is comfortable even when playing for hours. The sound they produce is also stunning. Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound allows you to pick out wherever a shot comes from or whenever a teammate needs assistance. The in-game sound is booming, yet vocals are crystal clear. They also come with a magnetic charging dock that limits the clutter in an area of your house that is probably already quite wire heavy. The Astro A50 may be top of the range in terms of price, coming in at about $300, but their quality matches that figure.

Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X

Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X

Audio-Technica are famous for their obsession with audio quality, so it should come as no surprise that the Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X headset prioritises it over other features. It may be missing a Digital to Analog converter, and there will be some sound leakage from the open-backed cups, but it is unrivaled when it comes to sound quality. Its lightweight design, with the minimal headband, also makes it a comfortable headset that is at home on huge gaming marathons. If you’re a audio connoisseur, then the Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X will be a great choice, even at the $300 price point.

Mid-Range – $100-200

Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver

kingston-hyperx-cloud-revolver

The Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver is at the lower end of this price range, costing between $100 and $120, yet it doesn’t pale in comparison to the competition. The cushions around the ears, of which you’re provided with two pairs, are made from high-density memory foam, which hold the speakers further from you ears and improve the sound. They’re also very practical and versatile, featuring 50mm drivers and a detachable, noise-cancelling mic that makes voice chat sound perfect. They’re a little pricier than Kingston’s other headset creations, but they’re worth the extra few bucks.

Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament

Developed with esports in mind, the Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament headset is aimed at those who plan mammoth gaming sessions. The superb headband and ear-cup cushions make it a comfortable choice, but the option to alter the tension in the cups to allow for improved comfort for glasses-wearers makes it even better over hours of play. There’s also add-ons available that make it an even better package. The Elite Pro Tactical Audio Controller allows you to precisely alter your audio experience, while a additional noise cancelling microphone ensures that your voice is the only thing that can be heard by those that are listening. Even without these additions, the Turtle Beach Elite Pro Tournament headset is a great option for Xbox One players.

Plantronics RIG 800LX

The RIG 800LX, Plantronics’ flagship headset, looks, feels, and sounds far more expensive than it actually is. It’s made from quality materials, it feels comfortable to wear, and sounds great for a $150 option. It lacks loud mic monitoring and 3.5mm connectivity, but it’s one of the easiest headsets on the market to use. It also comes with a code for Dolby Atmos, making the most of the headset’s surround sound capabilities. If you’re after a mid-range all-rounder, the Plantronics RIG 800LX would be a great choice.

Budget Options

Best Xbox One Headsets for 2018

KOTION Each G2000

The cheapest option on this list, at little more than $25, is the KOTION Each G2000. However, just because it is cheap, it doesn’t mean it is significantly worse than the more expensive options. You tend to pay for bells and whistles, such as surround sound or super comfortable cushions, but budget options are more than serviceable. You will need to pick up an adapter to use it with your Xbox One, as you do with most wired headsets, but they’re not expensive. Due to the large size of the headset, the ear-cups entirely cover your ears, making for a comfortable experience, even when playing for an extended period of time. The sound is loud and punchy, and of a higher quality than most other budget options. If your looking for a headset to pick up quickly so that you can play games with your friends, the KOTION Each G2000 would be a great choice.

HyperX Cloud II

The HyperX Cloud headset may not be the cheapest option, but it has a few more features that aren’t present on other under $100 choices. Combining a great looking and lightweight design with good quality sound from noise isolating ear cups, it offers a lot of what far more luxury headsets do. The microphone is detachable, it is 53mm capable, and it even comes with a second set of ear cushions. It might not be the best option for those on really tight restrictions, but at $80, those will a more flexible budget shouldn’t look much further.
