Life Is Strange: Before the Storm – Farewell Bonus Episode (March 5)

Best Xbox One Games to Have on Your Radar in March 2018

life is strange, before the storm

Despite coming from a new developer, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm managed to tell a story that captivated fans just as its predecessor did back in 2015. Telling the story of how Chloe and Rachel Amber came to meet and become such good friends, Before the Storm let go of the supernatural story twists from the first game and went with a more grounded, emotional experience. Though Farewell won’t focus on Chloe and Rachel, it will see the return of Max Caulfield – the protagonist from the first game – as she bids farewell to her friend Chloe before moving away.

We don’t really know what to expect from the bonus episode, but it’s sure to shed some light and answer some questions that fans may have been pondering for quite some time now. Fortunately, we don’t have much longer to wait, as Farewell releases on March 5.

Burnout Paradise Remastered (March 16)

burnout paradise

Burnout is one of those series that just about everyone and their grandmother have had some experience playing at one time or another. There’s something about smashing your opponents off a road at blistering speeds that’s just so damn satisfying. Burnout Paradise marked a big change for the series, adopting the open world formula when it released back in 2008. Players could drive to the next event they wanted to tackle, explore the grandiose city at their own leisure, and smash up as many cars as they saw fit.

Well, turns out EA is no longer seemingly completely against remasters, as fans will get to return to the streets of Paradise City once more on March 16. You can expect all eight of its DLC packs added in on top of the base game, and 4K at 60FPS performance on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X (1080p otherwise).  Plus, it’s releasing at a budget price, too, so if you need something to fill the time ahead of a certain high seas adventure, Burnout Paradise Remastered will more than happily spin in your Xbox One without breaking the bank.

Sea of Thieves (March 20)

sea of thieves

It’s the one that Xbox One fans have been waiting so long for. Rare’s Sea of Thieves will finally hit Xbox One and PC on March 20, tasking players with becoming a pirate legend as they scour the seas for treasure and sink any ships that try and get in their way. It’s all about embracing the pirate’s life, so whether you want to follow treasure maps and seek out some gold doubloons, or drink some grog and play an accordion on your ship, you’re free to do so whenever you want.

While Sea of Thieves can be played in single-player, there’s definitely a push for this to be a co-op, multiplayer experience, so be sure to drag some friends along for the ride. And what’s more, if you’ve got an Xbox Game Pass subscription, you’ll be able to download and play it for free on day-one, too!

A Way Out (March 23)

A Way Out

Josef Fares caused quite the commotion when he showed up at The Game Awards at the end of last year. He’s clearly excited about his upcoming co-op focused experience, A Way Out, and there’s plenty of reasons that you should be, too. A Way Out follows two brothers as they try and escape from prison. Actually getting out is just the start, though, with the adventure continuing long after you’ve scaled the perimeter.

A Way Out promises to offer a wide range of different gameplay elements that players will have to tackle along the way, such as car chases, stealth sections and more. Fares is really pushing A Way Out to be played in co-op, too, as you’ll only need to pick up the game once to play with a friend. Simply invite them, have them join in and you’re all good to go. It’s time to channel your inner Michael Schofield.

Far Cry 5 (March 27)

If there’s one thing you can expect from a Far Cry title, it’s a ton of explosions and a damn good time. Far Cry 5 looks set to be no different, although where you’re doing the shooting is drastically different from the exotic locales fans have found themselves in in the previous two mainline entries. This time, players journey to Hope County, Montana, to help form a resistance and push back against the doomsday cult known as Eden’s Gate.

With a full co-op campaign, a new ‘Guns for Hire’ mechanic that gives you AI assistance in the heat of battle, and a stunning new world to go out and explore, Far Cry 5 looks set to be another delightfully explosive entry in Ubisoft’s shooter series.
