Something Wicked
Need a Rocket Launcher, but can’t spare your Exotic slot for the Gjallarhorn? I highly recommend picking up Something Wicked from the Crucible Quartermaster if you can. With perks like Heavy Payload and Danger Close, this is a seriously high-impact, fast-reloading Rocket Launcher that serves as a very solid substitute for the Gjallarhorn.
It’s missing the cluster Wolfpack rounds, but the tracking shots on this thing make it a worthy weapon to have on you at all times. Titans with the Taikonaut Exotic helmet will be able to get tracking on all their Rocket Launchers, but Something Wicked is the perfect fit for the other two classes that don’t have the same privilege in Destiny.

The Palindrome
This is one of the most popular Hand Cannons in Destiny: Rise of Iron at the moment, and for good reason too. The range on this thing is insanely good for a Hand Cannon, making it a prime pick in the current Crucible PVP meta. What makes the Palindrome so special in Rise of Iron is the fact that it comes with some seriously good perks that players have been hunting for on their Eyasluna for ages.
The Eyasluna is currently one of the more popular primary weapons in the Crucible, though getting the right rolls for it is a little tricky. The Palindrome is looking like a good substitute to the Eyasluna at the moment. I’ve been testing this one in the Crucible, and you can take down Guardians very reliably with two or three shots at a decent enough range. It also fires very quickly.
If you like Hand Cannons but have always held back from using them in PVE because of their terrible range, the Palindrome and its two range-boosting perks might just change your mind.

The Wormwood
I’m a fan of Sidearms in general, even if they are pretty weak when compared to all the other Special Weapons available in Destiny, and the Wormwood has proven to be great so far for getting you out of emergency situations. Its notable perks include Hidden Hand, Zen Moment, and Quickdraw, meaning that you can spam bullets very quickly and precisely.
If you’re looking to make use of Sidearms in Rise of Iron  and you don’t have your hands on a Trespasser just yet, the Wormwood is a solid choice to take with you into Strikes. The Vanguard’s Teacup Tempest Sidearm is a nice choice too with its Army of One perk, but the Wormwood’s larger magazine size is far more useful, and that edges it out in my opinion.

Event Horizon
Another weapon that you can pick up from Lord Shaxx in Rise of Iron, the Event Horizon, is a fantastic Sniper Rifle pick for Crucible fights at the moment. With perks like Hidden Hand and the Shortgaze sight, this gun comes with great stability and aim assist for getting precision shots.
You’ll still need to be quick on the draw if you’re trying to land headshots in the Crucible, but at least you have a much wider margin for error with the Event Horizon. It performs well in PVE too, but it’s worth noting that the magazine only holds three rounds, so you’ll likely be able to find a better Sniper Rifle for Strikes and story missions where the aim assist perks don’t matter all that much.

Last-Ditch 001
The range on the Dead Orbit shotgun isn’t quite as impressive as the one on the Palindrome, but the Last-Ditch 001 still boasts some neat range-boosting perks that will definitely give you an edge in the Crucible. It loads very slowly, as most shotguns in Destiny do, but it boasts a very high impact value, and with its range, you’ll be able to take down a lot of unsuspecting Guardians at greater distances in the Crucible.
I’ve been using this one on my Heroic Strikes as well, and it’s performed very nicely as a quick Servitor-killing machine.
