Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

uncharted

Of course Sony had to open up strong, and what better way than with an expansion to one of the company’s biggest franchises. After a beautiful musical performance, we got to see some brand new footage of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which gave some insight into Chloe and Nadine’s relationship. We also got to finally see some gameplay, which appeared to be just as hectic as that of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Horizon: The Frozen Wilds

Sony received a feather in its 2017 cap in the form of Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy’s journey to find the truth behind the end of humanity and the robots that threatened her people became one of the biggest games of the year. Now we get to see even more of her and the beautiful world that Guerrilla Games has built. In a frozen wasteland, we get to see a new clan step out of the snowy shadows before we find out that there’s a new mystery to uncover.

Days Gone

When we got to see Days Gone during last year’s E3, it showed off just how many enemies could fit onto the screen. This time around,we got to see more in-depth gameplay that included hand-to-hand combat, stealth, traps, and the use of the world. The zombies are definitely not the only threat in the game, as you see the protagonist deal with a cruel enemy faction that has attacked his people. Of course, the only way he could deal with them was to blow up a huge gate and send a swarm of insanely fast zombies to decimate their forces. Oh and there are zombie bears, just in case you needed another reason to be excited.

Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter World

Monster Hunter hasn’t appeared on a Sony platform since the PS2. Since then, it’s been exclusive to Nintendo’s platforms much to the chagrin of fans who don’t own one. Today, however, Capcom unveiled a new title in the series for the PS4, and it looked gorgeous. Watching as powerful monsters tore through the world just to kill the player was exhilarating, and seeing how you could traverse that same world was impressive. This is one announcement that is sure to keep us waiting for more information.

Shadow of the Colossus

If you ask a group of people what the best game on the PS2 was, there’s a very good chance that a decent amount of them will say Team Ico’s Shadow of the Colossus. After today, there’s a good chance the answer may ring true for the PS4, as well. Early on in the Sony E3 2017 Press Conference, they revealed what appears to be a completely remade Shadow of the Colossus for the PS4 and it looked absolutely stunning.

God of War

There was no way we were getting out of E3 2017 without seeing God of War. We got to see some brand new gameplay and a larger glimpse at the world. It’s clear that this is a very different game from its predecessors, with a slower, more focused approach to action and combat. We still got a few glimpses at that inner rage Kratos is known for, but watching him fight alongside his son was a nice take. That relationship is taking center stage and fans will be exposed to an all new side of our favorite, murderous hero. Even better is that we finally have a release window, there is only a little while longer to wait as it’s due out in early 2018.

Detroit: Become Human

Quantic Dream has been pretty silent when it comes to Detroit: Become Human. For a long time we had a general gist, but it was all just a concept of sorts, showing us the possibilities of choices. During Sony’s E3 2017 conference we got to see the story, how androids were rebelling against a world that wanted nothing more than to enslave them. They want to be human, and it’s up to you to decide how they embark on this journey.

Spider-Man

After a reveal last year, Insomniac’s PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game finally had some gameplay shown off and it was everything that fans could’ve possibly hoped for. We saw Spidey swing through the city, fight random bad guys lounging around, and use his Spidey-senses to save the day. The big reveal was Miles Morales at the end, though, which means that there might be multiple protagonists or at least a budding partnership coming out.

VR Explosion

There were quite a few VR games shown off as Sony pushed the PSVR during their E3 2017 press conference. Star Child, The Inpatient, Final Fantasy XV Fishing: Monster of the Deep, Bravo Team, and Moss are all on their way. There’s also Skyrim VR coming and now fans will have a reason to buy it yet again. Sony said they were serious about their headset, and they proved that tonight.
