Snobby Shores’ North House

5 Best Locations in Fortnite Battle Royale’s New Map Update

Grid Location A5

As we’ve covered in our latest multi chest spawn guide, the whole of Fortnite Battle Royale’s new Snobby Shores area is pretty plush with good loot. The town makes for an ideal starting location, but landing right in its center, especially as of right now when many new players are wanting to sample the map’s new areas, isn’t wise. Instead, head for the northernmost house, which not only has the best loot (up to three chests and good floor loot), but it also gives a decent escape route north once you’ve nabbed what you need.

As you head north toward the Haunted Hills, look out for an abandoned vehicle underneath a tree; there’s often another chest sitting in its trunk. From there, you’ve got the option to head further north toward Junkyard Junction, take cover in trees to the east, or make your way to large settlements such as Pleasant Park for even more loot.

Critically, as with any good starting point, landing here ensures good weapons and items, has a good escape route and also has elevated positions where you can set up a decent fort should you find yourself already in the circle.

Houses South of Snobby Shores

Grid Location A6

Technically part of the same area as the previous page, but since there’s a hill separating Snobby Shores-proper, and there’s a direct route south towards other urban areas, you’re going to want to approach this landing spot with a different set of tactics.

Immediately look to land in the southern house with the cellar. If you’re playing a duos or squads match, organize your teammates to land on the roof of one/both houses while someone else mines the cellar. That way, you’re covering all possible chest locations. Another possible tactic is to have one player land on the hilltop just east of the two houses if a chest has spawned on its peak, or just start here and work your way down if playing solo. From here, those who adopt aggressive playstyles can head straight for Greasy Grove or Tilted towers, while stealthy players can hug the coastline and work their way south. Be warned, though, landing anywhere in this southwestern corner of Fortnite Battle Royale’s map is generally asking for frequent firefights.

Abandoned Houses Southeast of Junkyard Junction

Grid Location C2

Just east of Junkyard Junction and the Haunted Hills is a small grouping of wrecked abandoned houses. This is a new addition to the map with the latest update, and though it doesn’t have its own name or the visual splendor of places like Tilted Towers or Snobby Shores, it’s still an absolute gem. This is a landing spot best suited to players that like to land outside of the busy main centers. In our experience, not many players are landing here at the moment, and even if they do, there’s enough loot here to pick your spot, grab a chest and then leave.

At best, there are three chests here, and there’s also plenty of floor loot. Look out for a chest in the northwest corner (you can see it in the above screenshot), and one at the southeastern end (just on the other side of the spire) which you’ll have to build up to. Once you’ve gathered some decent weapons and items, you’re in a great spot regardless of where the circle ends up: close enough to urban centers for more loot, or able to sneak away to isolated areas. Our top tip is to head east after you’ve plundered the area and locate the new motel just west of Anarchy Acres. There’s usually at least another two chests to be found here. If the Battle Bus didn’t take you anywhere near this area, consider visiting Junkyard Junction, too, since it’s heavy with chests that and worth spending a couple of minutes plundering if you’ve got the area to yourself.

Industrial Area Northeast of Flush Factory

5 Best Locations in Fortnite Battle Royale’s New Map Update

Grid Location E9

We’ve never been big fans of Flush Factory in Fortnite Battle Royale. There isn’t ever enough good loot to be had, running around inside its larger building is dangerous, and it’s too easy to get picked off as you run away with whatever weapons and items you were able to find. Like the prison, it’s also not an easy place to infiltrate mid to late game. What we’re now very big fans of, however, is the new area northeast of Flush Factory.

This industrial outpost typically spawns at least three chests, and it gives you a nice option to travel in any direction after the first skirmishes of the game. Check the trunks of the red trucks parked in the area since at least two of them frequently have chests inside. Head directly north towards the Tree of Life for a potential double or triple chest spawn, then on to the wrecked Battle Bus for even more. We also like heading southeast from this area and raiding the three houses at the bottom of Fortnite Battle Royale’s map, one west of the river, and the other two to its east.

Tilted Towers

5 Best Locations in Fortnite Battle Royale’s New Map Update

Grid Location D6/7

Everybody’s favorite new hangout, this recommendation comes with a caveat: it’s only for the brave. Given that the Tilted Towers is the new map’s most impressive and substantial addition, it’s little surprise that the area is hugely popular at the moment. In all honesty, it’s more of a long-term recommendation that what we’d suggest for the next week or so (depending on your playstyle, though, of course). For aggressive players, Tilted Towers is one hell of a good time. There’s loot aplenty (try and land on the clock tower for a double chest spawn), and exciting firefights are guaranteed. But if you’re looking for a Victory Royale, this is a high-risk strategy that doesn’t really pay off with any additional benefits than other places we’ve listed here.

Ultimately, the best time to land in Tilted Towers is when the Battle Bus’ flight path has taken it well clear of the area. Go for a marathon glide and cash in on all the loot, and then either look to defend your position or move to one of the surrounding new locations in Fortnite Battle Royale for even more weapons and items.
