All Free Games You Can Get in June 2019

It’s almost as if Microsoft heard me bitching about their awful free games offerings from last month and decided to step up their game for June 2019. Only a little bit, though.

This month, Gold subscribers will be able to get their hands on EA’s NHL 19 and the original Portal. Which is great, if you’re a fan of hockey or for some reason you haven’t played Portal yet.

Either way, whether you’ve played Portal or not, it’s still a fantastic puzzle game to get into. It’s not quite as brilliant as Portal 2, but it still makes for a really fun head-scratching experience, and introduces you to some of the most beloved characters in gaming.

PS Plus

It’s almost as if Sony also heard me bitching about their awful free games offerings from last month, and also decided to step up their game. And hey, they actually did!

Only getting two free games from the PS Plus subscription definitely still stings, but this month, we’re getting Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania.

With Borderlands 3 on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to grab the Handsome Collection and check out the original games if you haven’t already. They come with full co-op functionality, allowing you to enjoy the looter shooter experience with a friend, online or locally.

Sonic Mania is also probably the best Sonic game to be released in recent years, and whether you’re a new fan or old, it’s worth revisiting the blue blur in his hey day.

Steam

Every month, Steam sees the release of several free-to-play games, and y’know, free is always nice. We’ve picked out a few games that we think might be worth checking out if you don’t want to break the bank this June.

LocoMotives is a strategy game set in the Wild West where players must build establishments and train tracks in order to get the loot in the northern settlements. The card-based style of the game and its artwork look beautiful as well, which certainly helps.

We’re not super sure exactly what Crystal Command is supposed to be, but judging from the screenshots, videos, and brief description, it sounds like a MOBA where you’ll “collect crystals, build armies” and attempt to destroy your opponent’s Elder God. Yup, definitely a MOBA.
