5 Insane Ways That Gamers Have Beaten Video Games

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Mordhau – Frying Pan

Recommended Videos

Mordhau is a medieval hack and slash brawler for PC that’s usually played with a mouse and keyboard, like any other game on PC, but a streamer realized that swords and other old-timey weapons were no match against an actual frying pan.

Not only did Rudeism use a frying pan that’s found in-game, but he managed to create a custom video game controller in the form of a basic household cooking item.

If you watch this short clip from one of his many streams, you can see him cracking up as he continuously throws the frying pans around and then successfully kills an opponent.

You know, I’ve never thought of playing a game with anything but a normal controller, but this is definitely something that I would have never even though about doing –kudos to him.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – USB Steering Wheel

I still have yet to finish FromSoftware’s latest action title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, due to my lack of skill and hand-eye coordination when it comes to punishing games like this.

Nevertheless, leave it to a streamer to not only finish the game in a very short amount of time but to beat the game by mapping a USB steering wheel to the game, with pedals and all.

The YouTuber who accomplished this any% speedrun for Sekiro did it without sidestepping and ended up with the Immortal Severance ending.

You know, it’s these type of gamers that really make me feel like I have no skill whatsoever –thanks for making us “normals” feel bad about ourselves, Caesium.

Dark Souls 3 – Guitar Hero Controller

A man that goes by ATwerkingYoshi on YouTube has beaten the entirety of Dark Souls 3 in under four hours by using a Guitar Hero controller… what?

He’s mapped up the buttons to the color-coded rectangles on the Guitar accessory and plays one of the hardest video games of all time –talk about skill.

He’s also managed to play Super Mario Odyssey with an actual hat, Sekiro with bongo drums, and Kingdom Hearts with a keyblade controller.

Forza Horizon 4 – Dance Dance Revolution Pad

Rudeism loves to go all the way when it comes to bringing in strange things to play games with.

After getting bored of playing World of Warcraft for over 100 hours with a DDR dance-pad, the man decided to play a racing game by moving his feet over the directional pads.

He chose to play Forza Horizon 4, decided to go with one of the worst cars in the game, and then chose the longest circuit to race on–woof.

If you check out his video above, you can actually see that he does quite well when it comes to racing in a straight line. If I was trying to drive by way of a DDR dance-pad, I would probably end up a ditch of some sort.

Dark Souls 3 – Banana Controllers

If you thought that you’d seen everything there is to see with people finding strange ways to play Dark Souls, then think again.

ATwerkingYoshi is back with another video on this list and it’s for a very good reason. He has somehow mapped up nine –count ’em, nine– bananas to all of the button inputs for Dark Souls 3, and has actually managed to complete the game in this ridiculous manner.

I have no clue how something like this works, but it looks like he has to hold down or press on the physical bananas in order to perform actions in-game.

It’s actually quite funny at the beginning of the video when he realizes that he forgot to bring in a banana to cover the lock-on input –no worries though, he had an extra one ready to go.
