20 FE: Three Houses Students that Should Just Get Together Already

Dorothea and Edelgard

Dorothea and Edelgard have a dynamic that’s automatically interesting because of their social status. Edelgard is the heir to the Adrestian Empire, while Dorothea’s just a commoner in Fire Emblem Three Houses.

However, the two share a great friendship based on their ideals. And whether intentionally or not, Dorothea feels like the one character in the Black Eagles who manages to keep Edelgard in check. When the latter shares her lofty vision of a world that isn’t ruled by Crests or the nobility, Dorothea grounds her by talking about how she’d made a great main character in an opera.

Also, that opera song.

Annette and Felix

The support conversations between Annette and Felix are an instant classic, thanks in no small part to Annette’s now-iconic steak song.

The girl finds herself overwhelmed with hunger while doing her chores, and starts singing a lively song about steak and other types of food. The no-nonsense swordman Felix overhears, and pokes fun at her in the cutest way possible. The dynamic between Annette and Felix is cute as hell, and Felix certainly adopts the ‘big brother’ role pretty well in the Blue Lions house.

Lysithea and Felix

With Lysithea’s gremlin-like attitude and Felix’s deadpan nature, any interactions between these two are instantly entertaining.

Their support conversations start with Felix chancing upon Lysithea munching on delicious cake, and she becomes defensive as she somehow has this idea that cake is for kids. Terrified that the entire school would find out that she loves cake and keep thinking of her as a kid, she tries to buy Felix’s silence by bribing him with cake.

Felix, of course, doesn’t care that she eats cake, and their interactions end up being this hilarious push and pull of Lysithea slowly bringing him over to the dark side of cakes and sweets.

Ferdinand and Petra

Ferdinand and Petra feel like one of the most wholesome couples in Fire Emblem: Three Houses because of how their relationship unfolds.

Being the princess of Brigid and brought over to Fodlan as a prisoner of war, Petra eventually finds the opportunity to teach Ferdinand about the combat styles and other cultural bits about her homeland. This dynamic is fun to watch because Ferdinand is a typically ignorant noble who holds onto traditional beliefs.

Ferdinand eventually sees that he still has much to learn, and promises to visit Brigid with Petra one day.

Caspar and Annette

One of the more cutesy couples in the game, Caspar and Annette are both bubbly characters that play off each other well.

Annette is a hardworking do-gooder who’s always pushing herself, but she’s innately afraid of failure. Caspar, on the other hand, is gung ho about pretty much everything, and their friendship revolves around him teaching her to just always do her best without getting bogged down by the possible consequences.

Annette and Mercedes

The two Blue Lions girls are established as best friends right from the very start of the game, so it’s almost a no-brainer that they would end up having great support conversations in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

While the B-rank conversation does feel a little phoned in with a forced encounter with the brigands, Annette and Mercedes are just such a joy to watch when they’re together. Mercedes feels like the shy, soft-spoken anime mom, while Annette takes on the role of the bubbly, encouraging best friend who’s always there to lift her up.

Claude and Hilda

As far as actual content goes, Claude and Hilda are pretty straightforward. Both characters are mostly just getting to know more about each other as their support ranks go up, but it’s the natures of these characters that make the conversations to fun to watch.

Claude is generally a pretty laidback, lackadaisical guy, while Hilda is also fairly easygoing herself, with an air of snarkiness and pride to her. The meshing of their personalities help to bring life to their conversations, and also gives rise to some of the weirder lines in the game. You know which one I’m talking about.

Hilda and Sylvain

Hilda once again shows off her lazy side in her conversations with Sylvain, who’s a hopeless flirt and would do just about anything to try to impress the ladies.

This basically results in Hilda taking advantage of Sylvain by getting him to carry stuff around for her because she’s just too lazy. She ends up tricking him to return her books to the library by pretending she hurt her foot, and even acts all coy when Sylvain offers to help.

Her sliminess is hilarious to watch, and makes all her support conversations pretty entertaining.

Ignatz and Marianne

You’d think that two soft-spoken characters wouldn’t be very much fun to be around, but that isn’t the case with Ignatz and Marianne.

Marianne is generally pretty shy, and she’s quick to admit to Ignatz that she’s not very good at small talk. However, it’s heartening to watch Ignatz encourage her from time to time, and help her grow into a more confident person. He also teaches her that it’s okay to enjoy the quiet every once in a while, and that she’s fine just the way she is.

Lysithea and Annette

Pretty much any support conversation in Fire Emblem: Three Houses that features Lysithea is sure to be a hoot, and the same goes for the support conversations with her and Annette.

These two girls are some of the most hardworking students in Garreg Mach Monastery, which means they’re both in a great position to constantly help each other out and get better. Of course, this also gives rise to some friendly competition, as the two realize that they’ll need to push themselves harder if they want to be the smartest smartypants around.
