Is Zombies in Modern Warfare 3?
Yes, there will be a Zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3. As part of the build up to MW3, the CoD community was previously invited to text with Activision, with the devs revealing a few details about the upcoming title in covert and intriguing ways. For example, we know that traditional red dots on the minimap will return after they were confirmed via messaging.
Activision gave us more insight into the upcoming mode with a Zombies Cinematic trailer, showcasing the origins of the disease from an eerie device. Although their designs differ from past versions, longtime fans will notice a familiar sound featured in several Call of Duty installments. It’s the same sinister groaning and growling that veterans of the franchise will love. For others, it’ll be the tingle down the spine that confirms the undead are closing in.
Based on the information in the trailer, players will go on a mission named “Operation Deadbolt” to eliminate the zombie threat with the help of Task Force 141. Viktor Zakhaev, a notable antagonist of the CoD franchise, also makes an appearance as he grabs the strange device and triggers the disastrous events that transpire afterward.
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Release Date
You can expect Zombies to arrive in Modern Warfare 3 on Nov. 10, 2023, the same day the game launches.
There were doubts over MW3 boasting Zombies, with the undead mode typically featuring in Treyarch (the mode’s creators way back in Call of Duty: World at War) and Sledgehammer Games. Because MW3 acts as a direct sequel to MW2, which doesn’t have Zombies, players were unsure as to whether SHG would rekindle their inclusion of the mode. Now, we know they will.
It’ll be the first Modern Warfare game to have Zombies, with neither of its predecessors in the rebooted trilogy having a mode. The feature will be available on launch day, and you can preorder MWIII to obtain the Zombie Ghost Operator skin.
