First off, if you’re a completely new player to Overwatch 2, it’s going to take a little while before you can unlock the full roster. It’s not all bad, though; you’ll unlock new heroes every three matches or so, and the roster will gradually expand, allowing you to experiment with even more characters as you go.

In short, if you’re going through the First Time User Experience in Overwatch 2, just keep playing Quick Play matches. You’ll unlock new heroes naturally every three matches, and you should have access to the full roster once you hit around 100 matches.

New heroes can be unlocked by leveling up through the Battle Pass. If you purchase the premium track, you’ll get access to the new hero immediately. If you’re following the free track, you’ll unlock them at tier 55.

If you miss out on a Battle Pass from any season, Blizzard has also stated that heroes will be made available after that season is over, either through the in-game shop or by completing unique challenges. The developers have yet to release more information on that front.

That’s all you need to know about how to unlock heroes in Overwatch 2. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game, including our take on the FTUE, whether it has cross-play and progression, as well as our final preview.
