The Season of the Haunted is officially underway in Destiny 2, and it comes with a new Season Pass for players to purchase, along with plenty of new Exotic weapons and Catalysts to pursue. There are also quite a few new events to check out, each coming with their own valuable resources and currencies that you can farm. Here’s how to get Bound Presence in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted, and what you can do with it.
Getting Bound Presence in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted
- Farm 500 Vestiges of Dread.
Vestiges of Dread are very easy to grind out, as they can drop from tons of different activities in Destiny 2. They’ll drop from chests, patrol completion on the Derelict Leviathan, killing Nightmares and other enemies, and by completing playlist activities.
- Wait for the Nightmare Containment public event to spawn.
You’ll then want to head to the Derelict Leviathan and wait for the new Nightmare Containment public event to spawn. You can check your map through the Director to see if it’s appeared anywhere on the map.
- Complete Nightmare Containment, then Bind the Nightmares.
Once you’ve cleared the public event, you’ll have the option to Bind the Nightmares, assuming that you have 500 Vestiges of Dread on you. This will reward you with one guaranteed Bound Presence each week.
It’s important to note that you are only guaranteed one Bound Presence each week when you Bind the Nightmares. After that, you can continue to farm Vestiges of Dread and the public event, but the drops will be random. This means that you’ll likely have to farm for quite a while each week if you’re looking to rack up your Bound Presence count in Destiny 2.
What to Do With Bound Presence
The Bound Presence is required for progressing through the weekly Sever missions in Season of the Haunted. At the time of writing, this week’s Sever mission –titled Shame– tasks you with exploring the underbelly of the Derelict Leviathan.
After completing the mission, a chest will spawn, and you can only open it with a Bound Presence. Opening the chest will reward you with Season of the Haunted weapons, along with Opulent Umbral Energy, which is yet another resource that you’ll need to farm in the game. Because of this, the Vestiges of Dread/Bound Presence grind is a very core element of this Season, and you’ll likely spend the bulk of your time farming them up to complete the Nightmare Containment public event.
That’s all you need to know about how to get and use Bound Presence in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
