When Is EA Play Live 2022

When Is EA Play Live 2022? Answered

The year takes another twist for gaming events.

Every year, the gaming industry gets together for a few tentpole events to showcase some of the latest and greatest games that will be coming in the future. While the current state of the world has necessitated the move to the digital space, not all the usual shows are carrying on. EA Play Live 2022 is one of them, with the announcement that there will be no showcase this summer.

What Happened to EA Play Live 2022

EA Play Live has been an annual event beginning back in 2016, but the skipping of the 2022 iteration will see the publisher adopt a different approach.

“We love EA Play Live as it’s our way of connecting with our players and sharing what’s new with all of you,” EA shared in a statement via IGN. “However, this year things aren’t lining up to show you everything on one date. We have exciting things happening at our world-class studios and this year we’ll reveal much more about these projects when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!”

The showcase event was always good for a couple of announcements of new games and updates for existing ones, and fans got to get some hands-on time at the physical event. After the previous two EA Play Live events were relegated to livestreams, we will not have a 2022 version.

This follows the news that there will be no E3 this year as well, at least on the physical front. However, gamers still have the Summer Games Fest to look forward to, as well as the hybrid Gamescom that will be both an in-person event and an online one in August.
