The Bigger Game – Elder Scrolls Online
PS Plus Free Games Predictions June 2021

Following the release of the PS5, Sony has changed up how it dishes out its PS Plus free games each month. Rather than having an assortment of PS4 titles, we tend to get one big new PS5 game and a couple of smaller PS4 titles. For June 2021, we suspect that the big PS5 game could be the release of Elder Scrolls Online on Sony’s latest console.
The reason? Aside from the fact that June’s fairly quiet for PS5 releases outside of Ratchet & Clank: Rifts Apart (and as much as we’d love to get that for free on PS Plus, we’re being realistic over here), Elder Scrolls Online is the perfect kind of game to give away on PlayStation Plus ahead of the Console Enhanced Edition releasing in June.
Not only does it give players the base game and the Blackwood Prologue, which kicks off a story that takes players right up to the upcoming chapter — Greymoor — releasing on June 8, alongside the Console Enhanced edition of the game for PS5.
Once players have got themselves all hooked on the mechanics and world of Tamriel, there’s a ton of expansions for players to pick up to add even more hours to their journey. The game will run at 4K, 60 FPS on PS5, with increased draw distances, improved reflections, ambient occlusion, shadows, greater depth of field and much more.
It’s a bit of a win-win for everyone involved, if you ask us.
Note: The Elder Scrolls Online Console Enhanced Edition releases on June 8 for PS5 and is free to all PS4 owners of the game if they have a PS5. We imagine it’ll be a free PS4 version given away, with the option to upgrade for free come June 8.
The Smaller Games – Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts & Code Vein
PS Plus Free Games Predictions June 2021

As for the smaller titles, we think we’ve got some pretty solid predictions here, with Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts and Code Vein.
With the sequel releasing on PS4, Xbox One, Series X|S, and PC on June 4, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts seems like a shoo-in. It gives players a taste of the switch to the mission-based format of this spin-off, as opposed to the usual open-world affair of the Sniper Ghost Warrior series. You can try before you buy its sequel, and also work on your sniper skills while you’re at it!
Code Vein, on the other hand, was fairly popular when it released in September 2019. Developed by Bandai Namco, the open-world third-person ARPG, the game was praised for its welcoming approach to class experimentation and its fast-paced combat, though its teammate AI is a bit lacking.
Still, with Bandai Namco set to release Scarlet Nexus on June 25 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One & Series X|S, as well as PC, this seems like the perfect opportunity for the developer to sell its style of ARPGs to a wider audience.
