Resident Evil Village is a direct continuation of the story in Resident Evil 7, and takes place three years after the events of the Baker estate. Ethan Winters returns as the protagonist of Village, and this time he’s on a mission to save his young daughter Rose from the clutches of evil vampires and werewolves in a European castle. The game certainly gives off major RE4 vibes, especially with the village and castle environments, and the return of the merchant. Here’s how to upgrade weapons in Resident Evil Village.
Upgrading Weapons in Resident Evil Village
Upgrading your gear in Resident Evil Village works pretty much the same way as it did in Resident Evil 4. From time to time, you’ll encounter an NPC who calls himself the Duke, and you’ll instantly recognize the large caravan that he travels around in. Interact with the caravan to open up the shop, then select the Upgrade option.
From here, you’ll see a list of weapons that you currently have in your inventory, and you can select them to view your available upgrades. You can upgrade a weapon in a variety of ways, like improving the firepower, reload speed, ammo capacity, and fire rate. These upgrades will cost you tons of Lei, though, and the cost will only go up the more you upgrade a specific weapon.
Some upgrades are locked until you purchase an item. For instance, you can only start improving the fire rate of the shotgun once you purchase the trigger item from the Duke.
Improving your weapons is definitely one of the important cornerstones of Resident Evil Village’s gameplay. The more powerful your weapons are, the easier it’ll be to take down even the toughest of enemies, so try to save your money for those.
