March 2021 Xbox Games with Gold Free Games Predictions

The Bigger Game – BioShock: The Collection

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

We have some Xbox Games with Gold predictions for the upcoming month of March 2021, including one larger more well known collection and a smaller indie title to flesh out the list.

For the current month of February, Microsoft included a pretty wide array of games including Gears 5, Resident Evil, Dandara: Trails of Fear Edition, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb, and Lost Planet 2.

For next month, we suspect the bigger game might be BioShock: The Collection which includes all single-player content remastered in 1080p from BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, along with all the single-player add-on content from the Columbia’s Finest pack and some additional Director’s Commentary from developers Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson.

The biggest hint that this collection might be coming to Xbox owners for free is it is on sale for a mere $9.99 at the time of writing off of $49.99 for the next few days.

Usually when a game goes on sale for such a low price right before the Games with Gold list is announced, it’s a clue that it’s a contender for the free games list for the upcoming month.

One of the games in the collection has actually already been offered on Games with Gold, namely Bioshock Infinite back in March 2015.

Other 2K games that have made it to Games with Gold in the past include:

  • Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution in March 2014
  • Mafia II in May 2015
  • Borderlands in March 2016
  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown in June 2016
  • WWE 2K16 in August 2016
  • Borderlands 2 in March 2017
  • The Golf Club 2 Featuring PGA Tour in May 2019

There seems to be a lot of 2K games offered on Games with Gold in March specifically, we’ll have to see if that trend continues into 2021.

The Smaller Game – Bendy and the Ink Machine

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

For the smaller game, we predict Bendy and the Ink Machine from Joey Drew Studios would be an interesting pick by Microsoft.

A lesser known title, it originally came to Xbox One in a console port in November 2018 made by publisher Rooster Teeth Games.

Its art style mimics the rubber hose animation style popularized originally in the 1920s, much like Cuphead. A horror game, Bendy and the Ink Machine’s gameplay is actually quite similar to that of the Resident Evil or BioShock series wherein you search through unsettling areas to find items to progress the story.

While it is not very well known, it seems like the type of quirky and original game Microsoft often picks for its smaller game inclusions (alongside the seemingly endless list of Disney and Lego games that is).

Check back with Twinfinite in the next week or so for the official announcement from Microsoft as to what free games are offered on Xbox Games with Gold for March 2021.
